Bendis's Illuminati or Hickman's Illuminati (45 votes)

Bendis 16%
Hickman 84%

I'm curious on other people's thoughts on this. I liked both but I'm beginning to lean towards Hickman's

Hickman for sure. His stories have so many layers. He has done wonders to these characters and we're exposed to each of their thoughts. I love what he's been doing with Black Panther.

Naw, they're still beefing. Wakanda recently blew down Atlantis though. Black Panther owned Namor. Lol.

This is almost spite. Bendis had the concept, but Hickman lives in that concept. The Illuminati is so far into Hickman's wheelhouse that it isn't fair.

I had to give this one to Bendis. It's his Illuminati that made me fall in love with the idea, and I still consider any of his Illuminati stories to be pretty classic.

I may feel the opposite a year from now, but, as much as I've been digging New Illuminati, Hickman's stuff has yet to feel as classic (or as fun) to me as Bendis'.

Bendis's Illuminati I know I'm in the minority.

Hickman, though I had no problem with Bendis version. In general I like both, love the concept, and think they get a lot of unfair flak from the fans. I think both authors do a good job keeping the characters in character, and showing the relationships between the two, but Hickman just does it better. He goes deeper into the bonds between them, though he's also writing them at a different time so there's that.

I gotta side with Hickman i really like what he is doing with this group of characters. I would like to see more Black Swan though

My thoughts exactly

Neither. The Illuminati bull$&&@t concept is annoying, ridiculous and redundant. these supposed geniuses amount to nothing! They don't prevent anything, they really don't accomplish anything and most of the rest of the Marvel writers and staff avoid the concept. And I don't blame them.

Bendis' Illuminati blowsss.....alright it wasn't that terrible in terms of conception and storylines (though that Beyonder retcon is still stupid), but it really only served to tie-in to Secret Invasion.

But the main problem with Bendis' was that he never nailed the gravity or the weight of the responsibilities that the Illuminati had. It kinda felt like that at points, and then we would have scenes like that one issue where the team discusses their wives. And Black Bolt makes a mock gesture by putting a finger-gun in his mouth in regards to Medusa.

UUrghhh.

Bendis' Illuminati was ok, but then they sent the Hulk to space...

The big issues that Bendis' Illuminati was exactly what Black Panther said they would be. He was right to turn down admission into the group.

Honestly, Bendis' Illumanti was a great idea he had no idea what to do with and seemed like a forgotten project, Hickman worked out the kinks, dusted it off and ran away with it, just waiting to see how these sub plots play out, but the Namor/Black Panther feud is gold

Hickman by miles!

Hickman all the way. Bendis has great ideas but the execution is lacking IMO. I think Bendis should really be an editor in Nick Lowe's spot
