Each week we take a close look at a comic book collectible. That means taking it out of the package. This week we're going to take a look at a LEGO set we've actually had for a few weeks. It's one of the bigger sets and it includes several characters. Get ready for LEGO Hulk Lab Smash.

You can see it contains 398 pieces and five characters. It retails for $49.99 and is available in stores or directly from LEGO.com. You might already have a Thor or Hulk from previous sets but look at who else you get. This is a set that's hard to pass by.

The big selling point for many is the fact that it comes with a LEGO M.O.D.O.K.

Most people like M.O.D.O.K. but perhaps there are some that are indifferent to the big-headed guy. So if he wasn't enough of a reason to buy this set, how about LEGO Taskmaster?!?

In our scenario here, the lab in questions is actually an A.I.M. base. Let's just pretend that because Taskmaster is so cool, he managed to capture Thor. And they are keeping him prisoner in a cage with...Adamantiumglass.

The reason M.O.D.O.K. wanted Thor captured was to gain access to Mjolnir. And...once they captured Thor, they managed to put Mjolnir into a fancy laser gun to power it up.

The lab itself is pretty cool. It makes a great playset that you can use with these characters or others.

You'll notice the readouts on the screen. Uh oh, one of them is detecting some Gamma Radiation.

You know what that means. There's a way to allow Hulk to smash his way in.

Of course, A.I.M. has some security measures in place, just in case something like this should happen. There's also that big laser M.O.D.O.K. could use. Watch out Hulk!

This is Hulk we're talking about. He'll easily smash a little robotic defense droid. And that laser...

Hulk can easily smash a laser. No matter how fancy it might be. See ya later M.O.D.O.K. He knows when to make a quick getaway.

What about Mjolnir?

Hulk can't lift it, of course.

And wait, what about Taskmaster? Watch out, Hulk!

Actually, let's not forget Falcon is here too. How cool is that? We'll let him deal with Taskmaster.

Poor Taskmaster. He'll be okay.

Now it's time to free Thor. Sure it's Adamantium glass, but...there are seams or something. Or maybe Hulk just hit the prison really hard in just the right spot.

What is Hulk's reward for all this?

He gets a puny sword and shield. It's better than nothing.

This is a great set. If you're into LEGO and these Marvel characters, it's going to be hard to resist. You should be able to easily find it now. But it won't be around forever.

That's it for this week. We'll have another feature next week. It might just involve some more blind boxes.

I do love LEGO, and having played the LEGO Marvel game on my ps4, this does look really good, but I'm still hankering for those bobble heads from last weeks article.

Even if the show it's based on sucks to "Batman & Robin" levels, it's still a kick-ass set

Cool, excellent assortment of figures here. I'm tempted for MODOK alone, but throw in Taskmaster, Falcon, & Hulk (I already have Thor) and it is tough to pass on this. Lego is so expensive though, might have to wait and catch it on a good clearance sale.
