Hey gang!
Let me start off by saying I cant say how happy I am I found these forum in CV! I love the sight for my comic goodies, which replaced my Wizard magazine addiction I had for years lol
But it is good to find a supportive and talented community here in the forums. To be able to interact with artist of different levels helps everyone get better. SO again thanks everyone

I consider Deviantart my home when it comes to displaying my work, but I thought it would be a good idea to have a place here for folks who might not be familiar with my work that has not been in
challeneges. Call em Fuzzy favorites if you will hahaha

@Mrfuzzynutz: lol @ Fuzzy Favorites :)

Although I enjoy seeing your work on deviant I like that you bring some of the best to vine to share. This is where the real comic community is.

Plus I hadn't caught some of these yet so they're new to me.

@tonis: Thanks my friend. It dawned on me that not everyone is on DA, and I hope maybe those who are on DA we could link up easier.

@xerox-kitty: Sorry Kitty, I wasn't really thinking that CV and DA audiences may have different taste so that was my fault on that

loving the Thor with his beard! makes him seem more like a norse god! your work is awesome! what program do you use? do you pencil first and then do digital work?
#12 Posted by Mrfuzzynutz (885 posts) - - Show Bio
@madrid_san: Thanks!
Sorry for the long reply, but you nailed it...pencils and inks with pens not brushes and then scn and color in photoshop. I have a tablet and I have not gotten
to the point I am comfortable going all digital as of yet, But I have finally found  style I like and I am rocking with it for now

haha, always rock em if you got em :)

I think the big question from your point is whether you really 'should' go ALL digital. There's a lot of compelling incentives on the inking/coloring side to go digital, especially to preserve the 'traditional' drawing that's on paper but when it comes to the pencils I can see where the desire to stay with the fine tuned tools is equally compelling. In this case a 'hybrid' approach actually works well.

@tonis: You said it well...it is a true hybrid style from beginning to the end. I do a tight pencil, then full inks before scanning to Photoshop. And even my coloring style is a blend between painting and cell shading, brushes and gradients.
But I toyed with the full digital end of things trying to be the next greg horn, but not only were my results not where I wanted it to be, but frankly it wasn't as satisfying to me as a creator...no heart or soul in the work

I was thinking I might do a quick "How To" over on DA, or even here if anyone is interested.

So in any case I recently stumbled upon the works like THOR and Tigra recently and fell that is a nice balance for me and a good foundation to work on in the future

I'd definitely say inks done pre digital still beat post inking for overall quality and ease to work with for coloring, not a bad move to stick with that.

The only time post digital inking comes out clean is when you utilize Illustrator or some other 'vector' based solution and actually do the 'redrawing' that is real inking rather than depend on contrast or level adjustments. Those settings may get the blacks and whites where they should but they don't magically ink a drawing.

When it's properly inked, coloring becomes a playground to play in with stuff like photoshop :)

Hey gang, sorry I was quiet this month

I have been trying to work on my faces a bit more, and get rid of the "monkey face" syndrome my ladies have.

So please feel to comment and leave some feedback, because you'll just help me become better :)

Enjoy!
