lol not red bull... just ridiculous amounts of coffee. Ridiculous.  But thank you. I think this new method for tablet work is really helping.

Working on Mercury tonight, and then Anole and Rockslide tomorrow.

I agree, you're mixing in more dynamics into your shadings. It's almost like there's an additional layer of details being put into it :)

It’s totally not tomato juice.

And then Alicia got bored and tried a new style (tablet again)

Mercury came out sweet, great job getting that chromish look. Anole came out cool too and your Rockslides are getting as good as your Jubes.

And now, I'm just going to drop this here. I've only ever drawn people kissing once and it SUCKED, so I tried it again tonight. No reference, straight tablet, coloring tomorrow. And of course, my otp, Jubilee and Jono.

@Kamitosis: dude, WICKED SWEET :D

That's almost a absolute perfect translation from reference to shot. What is this 'ink well' feature of which you speak? What is it doing on the inks?

I do like how it turns out :)

It gives it a more clean line quality. Before I was using the paint brush and it had a softer tone. This ends up emulating ink pens and that was the feel I had wanted from the start. I wish I had known about it sooner.

yea, with a brush your always battling with it 'being a brush'. So does this vectorize the lines or is it like a raster filter. It is very clean, looks vector actually.

It's not vector, but it has similar results to the pen tool in photoshop, it's just easier to control.

@Kamitosis: yea, it has very similar characteristics to vector but there's definitely some nice shading to it that's got a much more traditional look to it. A nice mix :)

Here's one I JUST did for the lols.

ok, there is a joke to this one. A friend said I should totally start a roleplay tumblr for Xarus since she was playing Jubilee. So I did. There is spam going around on tumblr from a robot account by the name lolsummer69 talking about naked pics and just about everyone has gotten one. So as a joke, poor old Xarus Tepes has no idea what spam is and opens it. Brad was Xarus' right hand vamp and head of handling the logistics and technology in Curse of the Mutants thus why he's asking Brad. It's stupid but the idea amused me so I drew it.

haha I hadn't even noticed that, but he totes does!

So since I was playing his part last night in the RP I'm in, I felt inclined to draw him. I used actor Sean Bean as a reference (but unlike certain professional comic artists I didn't trace or direct copy *coughgreglandcough*. I also went for a more classic comic art style with this one.

Thanks and lol only for now. I'm giving the Jubster a bit of a break. And no one else draws him so someone has to. And I think he's testing the blood alcohol level of a finely aged O neg.

ahh that type O aged just right has a lotta kick. Good thing it's not mine, he'd probably end up tripping XD

That's not a bad strategy to tackle the characters in need of more exposure like that, very slick ;)

@tonis: Thank you.

So been a relatively slow last few weeks but let's see what I've been up to.

No Caption Provided
Did the above for the RP I'm in. This was done during a tumblr segment I like to call "Drink and Draw." Xarus on his throne. All digitally done.

This next one was inspired by Peter Nguyen's AGE OF JUBILEE picture in which he drew an Ascended Jubilee in Apocalypse's armor (one of this week's art picks) and how he felt Jubilee was always left out in terms of being affected by Apocalypse. So I drew vamp Jubes as the Horsemen of Death. Did the whole thing live online through my new livestream channel www.livestream.com/theartofk

Here is the all digital drawing through it's different stages:
sketch phase
sketch phase
inking phase
inking phase

colors with shading stage
colors with shading stage
finished.
finished.
Piece took about 4 hours.

Love the Jubes as Horseman of death. Really cool seeing all the phases like that. The final came out really killer.
