Finally finished my Selina Kyle fan art, after who knows how long. I've been busy working on other things but slowly chipped away at this until last night. Not much else to say, other than I love the show and the character, and thanks for looking! I'll post more stuff later.
Selina Kyle (Gotham)
I started with a very simple sketch and then just tinkered with it until it was done. I was originally planning to color it, but I believe it is a more powerful scene with only black and white values.
@hearsay: Dude I must tell you that your artwork is freaking epic :}
lol
If you don't mind telling, how long have you been drawing?(dabbling in digital art)
@fiodestromus: Thanks! As soon as I learned how to use a pencil, but I started getting into digital art about 3 years ago. Even then, I would scan in my pencil/ink work and then bring it into Photoshop afterwards. Only very recently, I believe early this year, was when I was comfortable doing everything start to finish digitally. I still do traditional sketch work often though.
@hearsay: That are is just so awesome. You are very talented ^_^. Keep up the good work.
BTW how long have you been drawing and how long would it normally take you to get done with an art like this ^_^
I'm not a fan of Gotham, but that picture is amazing. And I can't wait to see how that Supergirl turns out.
@hearsay: Your artworks are greatly done! You did awesome! :) Keep it up.
@claymore1998: Thanks guys! It would normally take me about 2-3 weeks to do something like this. If I worked nonstop without doing anything else besides working on a piece, it would take half that time. I got lazy with this one and stretched it over a month. I've been drawing since I was 3 years old.
So I'm gonna go ahead and push the concept a bit and add some more characters to the piece. It'll be cover art for an imaginary film starring New52 Hal and some fresh recruits. Kilowog and Salaak will be there just cuz they're staple members. I really appreciate the corps for many reasons, especially with how diverse it can be at any point in time. Some of the members are bugs, shark-crustacean hybrids, human look-alikes, anime creatures, robots.. etc. They're all there. Mogo and Sinestro are there but are just placeholders for now. I think new members should mean new challenges and threats.
Kara is still coming along nicely. Definitely one of the more frustrating pieces I'm currently working on, but still fun. More background and story elements are coming into play. I'm pushing the cape to make it more vibrant by darkening everything else on her and I'm about to introduce a bit of subsurface scattering on her legs, hands and face. Getting rid of the lines is always the hardest part; I grow attached to them and the painting looks weird without them if I keep them on for too long..
FANTASTIC, EXEMPLARY, WUNDERBAHR!
Honestly it is SO refresshing to see someone SO talented with digital brushes ALSO being someone whom has botherer to learn to master a penc il on semi-course surfaces.
10 outta ten stars. This stuff makes my heart sing and I generally loath digi-stuff. /standing ovation
@claymore1998 Sure thing. Here's something in progress from last night.
"Phoenix Five" redesign of Psylocke. I was inspired by Cory Walker's Supergirl challenge (I bet ya seen them floating around somewhere) and wanted to do one of my own. Here's his blog.
