Made this for a fantasy mag. but they rejected it. Kinda sucks and I'm quite pissed of at the moment.
But thats how the game goes.
rejected cover
" Way most have been really dumb to rejected something like that. "funny In my mail stand something else in stead of dumb :). Its their good right to reject it. Its their book. They know what they want. And this wasn't it, I guess.
That's how the game goes. And another problem is the subject. Doesn't suit me. Cant get no joy out of it. Seeing grass grow interest me more. But I've got to get over that. :)

hehe. We shall see :) Right now I'm putting them on a low pitch.
That's so cool!
Love the details into the wrinkles of the clothes
Too bad it was rejected... but it's welcomed here at CV!
The black and white line work feels more dynamic than the colored. I think its because the colors washed out a lot of the detail lines.
I am glad that your taking this on the stride... my first set of works (21 to be in fact) was rejected by a newspaper company who commissioned it to me for the first place. They told we what they want and I gave my sketches that they approved then when it came to the final product, they simply said "no".
But that moment defined me, to better and to find out what are the things that might have made them not like my work... i became a better critic and editor of my work after that.
Your work nevertheless, is very good and I've seen your work here at the Vine and you are one of the ones I find great :-) Good luck with your next submission.
That sucks, looks like great work but I can kinda see why they rejected it just for simple reasons. Though you're trying to capture the main kid's character with his thumbs in his pocket or whatever, I think some would consider that pose pretty boring. Comic book are often judged by their covers, it's gotta stand out. And I'm sure you know all about "pushing" characters' poses, so I'm not going to get into that. Plus the background is pretty empty, would be cool if you added more (but not too much). Also, why are the lines for the kid's hair so thick? Kinda draws more attention then needed. Then again, what do I know, maybe they demanded for poses like that or whatever. Sorry if this came off as dickish, it's a great drawing, just trying to offer some tips.
