I know, I know. Technically Rapunzel has no place in a comic book website but in my defense Disney bought Marvel Comics and there is a Tangled Graphic Novel (Left).
After The Little Mermaid, I think Tangled became my favorite Disney movie, all the way from the beautiful “Lantern Scene” to the amazing sidekick, Pascal. This drawing has been in my sketch book for a while now, I think I even teased it a couple of times on Twitter. Because of the lack of a scanner I wasn’t able to post it before.
I saw on the internet some fan-art for a very similar scene as the one I drew. That was originally inspiration (wish I had the link for it), but I added my own touch to this one. I have mentioned before that my favorite part of drawing women is hair. There is so much potential to different styles and movement that intrigues me, which is why it is no surprise that I enjoy drawing characters like Marvel’s Medusa or Disney’s Rapunzel. I especially went all out with this one. While I didn’t show the 70 feet of long hair I was able to show a lot of it. Pascal was an additional touch to this one!
I even showed this to a artist who said he liked it and mentioned I had potential to do Disney art for a living. While I don’t think that is entirely true, since I have a long way to go, I did appreciate the comment.
I do want to know what you guys think though!
