Chibi Lookheed approves

After thinking about it a bit, I decided that I will compile all of my art in one place. If you go to the comment section of this post you'll see I will regularly be posting new drawings there (Mostly Disney-related).

For the few of you who actually like my "Recent Drawings" blog posts, fear not! I will continue to post those but as I was updating my Deviantart page last night I realized that a lot of my sketches and art pieces aren't worth to have a blog post of their own (yes that is how low I think of some of my art).

So I thought of having it all compiled in one blog post to give those lesser sketches (judged by me) a chance.

Other Art-Related Posts:

  • My competition entry!!! - Comic Vine had a drawing contest back in 2008. Topic: Dress up a character! So I drew Spider-Man in an Iron Man suit and She Hulk in Spider-Woman's outfit.
  • My Art - The last time I attempted to keep my drawings in a controlled environment.
  • I entered a contest... Please vote for me! - Humberto Ramos (nicest guy in the comic book industry) held a contest that focused on his creator-own project called Fairy Quest. I entered and asked users here to vote for me but... I forgot to put in the link! FAIL
  • Witchblade Rebirth Contest - Massive Top Cow Giveaway - In honor of Top Cow's Rebirth Comic Vine did an official contest and I entered by recreating the Witchblade's look.

"Recent Drawings":

Contests I Have Participated in:

Like I said before I won't stop posting the "Recent Drawings" Blog Posts but I will start posting a lot of drawings/sketches here, which in my opinion don't deserve their own blog post but I want to share it with you. So below you'll see periodical drawings I make.

So here are the drawings:

A friend asked me if I could draw this for her. She said this is some kind of inside joke with her and her husband. Let's not pry!
Another Tangled sketch... Yeah! I liked the movie. Plus I love drawing hair!!!
Ultimate Spider-Woman!!! As you can see I didn't even finish the spider web! :P

A sketch I like! :P This is a sketch that I will probably never finish... Which is why I am posting it now.
I have always thought that movie crossovers between Disney movies would be awesome (ie. My love for House of Mouse and Kingdom Hearts).
Well I thought that it would be funny that with all of the dinglehoppers and thingababops, Ariel would have found a few Disney objects... like the Evil Queen's Magic Mirror (Right in front of her), the Genie's Magic Lamp (in her pack), the Beast's Enchanted Rose and Cinderella's Glass Slipper (right behind her).
I'll probably re-do this someday, or finish it... but I just thought that the idea would be fun!
I bought the Blu-Ray... and was inspired!

Here's another sketch:

I was bored at work so I took out my sketch book and came up with this. Then i had to go on-stage so I never got around to finishing his right arm. Honestly I'm not too fond of this particular piece, so I'll never finish it. The uniform he's using sort of mimics that of Cyclops' Wolverine and the X-Men outfit.

This on the other hand is a whole other story:

After reading Teen Titans #91, I took a hard look at the cover and totally pictured those poses on other characters... I'm not done with it yet, and I will finish it. So this is what I've got so far. Can you tell who are all the characters?
I liked this idea so much that I thought it will be worth it's own Recent Drawings blog entry.

So, you all know I like Disney and that I work at Disneyland... Apart from the Tangled frenzy I went on a few weeks ago I began drawing more Disney-related stuff. To be exact, more Disneyland-related stuff.
The drawing of the Lion's head above, if you know your "Disney" well enough, you'll relate it to the Cave of Wonders in Aladdin. There was a section in Adventure Land where Aladdin and Jasmine would come out to tell stories called Aladdin's Oasis. Sadly the area is closed down and it's now a "backstage" are for the workers (Cast Members). My favorite part of that area is the entrance. 6-year-old me always wanted to be "a diamond in the rough" and get a chance to go inside the Cave of Wonders. Guess what! The entrance is that Cave of Wonders! It's smaller than the original, yes, but it is still just as cool. So on one of my breaks I decided to draw it. It was only a sketch so the scanner didn't catch it all that well. The original is on the right and the edited one is above so you can make out more of my drawing.

The other Disneyland-related drawing is this one. I interpret/perform a show called Jedi Training Academy. The show consists of bringing around 30 kids on-stage and teach the "younglings" to be Padawans. They learn from a Jedi Master who teaches them a combination with "Training Lightsaber" (Which in reality is a toy lightsaber). The show is a lot of fin and ends up having the kids face Darth Vader and/or Darth Maul. The drawing above is of one of the Jedi Masters, if you notice he even has his own "Training Lightsaber".

That Tiger and Winnie one is so incredibly awesome man. The expressions, especially. All your stuff is pretty awesome, technically sound, but that one, and the Cyclops one, I personally like the most. Both have a really nice delicate feel to them. The Jedi one as well, is especially technically sound as well!! ^_^

Cool art, thank you for sharing.

I love your shading and coloring. You pics rock. It brings me to so much joy when I see people who draw females with proper shaped hips.

@PsychoMunkee: great to hear from you bro, I'm loving seeing Soras skills being blended with yours, producing some sweet results.
The Spider-Man came out fantastic, love evil dark lighting moods, and he's a character who can pull it off.
#26 Posted by PsychoMunkee (10 posts) - - Show Bio
@tonis:  Thank you very much!. I enjoy doing darker styles alot more, but just color in general is what I love!

lol, big fan of color too :)
yea I like the dark looks. Especially really dramatic mood lighting. It's tough to always pull off, you need characters and colors that compliment the mood and lots and lots of tricks in light simulation. (not to mention understanding how lights work naturally)
Seems even after years of studying it I still keep finding new things. (and they keep shoving new things in photoshop)
#28 Edited by PsychoMunkee (10 posts) - - Show Bio
@tonis:  haha yeah, everytime I color a new picture i learn something new about lighting. I've actually come up with a little technique to kind of get the lighting, its my own little secret though XD

o man i just noticed one very small mistake I made, can you notice it?

@sora_thekey:  coolness :) i like the shadow effects and how you blended it.
#31 Posted by sora_thekey (8175 posts) - - Show Bio
@kiss_lamia: That's all @PsychoMunkee: 's doing!

Plus he did another one as a request for me. I wanted for the background to be completely dark as if Ultimate Venom was creeping out of the shadows.

@sora_thekey:  the mistake on spidey is that on hid dymbol the lower left leg is covered by blue shadow instead of having the red part of the leg darken for shadows. o well.

@sora_thekey: @PsychoMunkee:  Awesome work then guys :D

I promised more drawings... Here's some more Disney stuff!

Boo at 's Pixie Hollow

I’ve mentioned I work at right? Well, there is a place called “Pixie Hollow” where you get to meet the characters from the recent Tinker Bell movies. I enjoy the company of many of these characters during my breaks and one day I decided it would be fun to draw Tink interact with a child. I then realized that it would be sort of boring for it to be just any child so I made the kid Boo from Monsters Inc.

I might just have to draw more of Boo’s adventures at . What do you think?

Kairi Sketch

This sketch is somewhat old now (from Feb. I think). This is Kairi from Kingdom Hearts. I drew this sketch because I felt that Kairi, being the one character who stares to the sea the most (waiting for her beloved), she needed an iconic “Kairi image”. Sadly I didn’t get it right.

The proportions to this drawing are wrong and the perspective is not what I hoped for. Still I wanted to share this with everyone for when I make a new one (hopefully one I’ll actually like) and I can share it with you all.

Ariel Sketch

Not a lot to say about this one. My favorite Disney movie is The Little Mermaid and while growing up I would repeatedly draw my fictional crush, Ariel. This is just a sketch I did of her.

Tinker

I have always been in love with Disney. The first things I would ever draw were Disney characters, which is why my art portfolio includes a lot of Disney in it. This is just one more for the collection. Hope you like it.

(NOTE: I finally scanned all of my drawings so expect a load of these!)
