Had to put Dr. Doom on hold, but I was pretty much done with everything besides the boots and gloves.

Now I'm working on a project in which I was asked to pick a character from a play which I will then re-imagine in a new period or style.

I went with Hippolyta from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and decided to give her a pulp sci-fi look. This is what I've got so far:

Couldn't pass up a good Wonder Woman reference so I made her some bracers.

I went with a stretchy and reflective material for the top and pants to give her an athletic, almost superheroic, look.

Still working on a shoulder and chest piece, but It's coming along nicely.

And probably my favorite piece, a good old fashioned ray gun. *pew pew pew!*

I've got a lot of work to do on her boots, and of course she wouldn't be Hippolyta without her legendary girdle, which I've yet to start on. I'm also still trying to decide if I'll give her some kind of helmet.

As usual, I'll post some updates as I go along. Let me know what you people think.

Finally put this up for exhibit.

I made a whole display for it too. It's my first time painting such a big piece, but I think it turned out nicely.
