I signed up to put my two cents in for the power battles but i keep finding more and more on this site. I had no idea there were forums on here until a bit ago. Even cooler that there's is a little art section. Feel free to drop a critique down though these have already been absolutely raped on another forum (brutally honest critiques...note me if you want that kind of tough love help... i can't guarantee you won't cry).

Says who? To become really good at drawing it takes practice, although some people just have a natural talent for it. The same thing with writing. The more you keep at it the stronger your work will get. You just have to roll with the punches even if you think something you've written is crap.

I have said it once and i'll say it again, awesome!

hey all, thanks for the kind words! I'll try to keep things super hero related but i'm a rather loose cannon when it comes to drawing. Here's a page out of my sketchbook. I was jamming with a fellow artist on dark knight stuff. It was an interesting think tank draw.

Here's some personal characters i've worked on over the years.

I'm somewhat sci-fi based, though i grew up reading lots of marvel... so i have no idea how that all came about. anyways

My tyrannical villain, Mecha, a breed of machine and living tissue. Talks in a gutteral mixture of humming and whirs. Machina speech.

My super natural deity of beauty and benevolence, Alexia. She's a cosmic intervening power when things get out of hand storywise. It's said that her mask is to protect those of men who would look upon her face and die from her beauty. It is rumored among small occult circles that hers may be the face of death itself.

The hero is shrouded in mystery...meaning, i'm not entirely sure what kind of hero he'll be. I've been bouncing ideas around for a long while. I don't want him to be so noble and typical but i'm trying to keep away from anti-hero. I'll find an element to make him some-what unique.

Dude you are awesome. I was drooling over you art work at the top of the page. And each on was consistently awesome. The FFVIII were great and the RE were beautiful too, but the Batman Clayface was unbelievable. Awesome job man.

Very beautiful, surreal and haunting. I'm very impressed. I'm always in awe of people who can throw a good few lines down on paper and make it look decent but this work is beyond that. Welcome to the Vine and please keep posting

thanks man. I really don't ever have any direct urge to go back and color my lines. Mainly because they're messy and difficult to deal with. My color theory is whack and the process is arduous. I'll usually add colors in if i feel the lines can't stand on their own. Otherwise, i stay away from the coloring shpeel like it's radioactive waste. Oh, and it was a pencil commission anyways. but thanks for having a look!

Really? It is such a great piece. If that is how you do your thing though, and get such great results, then keep up the good work. I like pics man.

It's funny, I saw the Clayface one (which led me to the others) on DeviantArt like 2 days before you posted it here. Freaky.

ha. that always get's me on that site. I'll sift through a ton of images just browsing through stuff, find one that looks sweet, and then realize it's a buddy of mine or an artist i know of already. UNCANNY i say.

I participated in the #24 hour comic day# event... aka, the most painful event i've ever done. You basically draw a 24 page comic in the timespan of 24 hours. Wow. You end up going crazy from lack of sleep, your neck gets real cramped and your drawing arm get's tired. It's also supposed to be spontaneous creation (story and characters made up on the spot). Not much of a writer so the story REALLy nose-dives after the main character smokes up. I'm trying to finish up the pages and get everything digitally legible.

Here's my take on the cloverfield monster. A lot of artsy fartsy pals of mine are drawing up there own interpretation of what the beast might look like. I went ancient protector, avian style.

this next one is a battle with another artist. Topic: UK achieves space travel in the Victorian era. Time limit, one and a half days. I conceded mine because his was too cool! Here it is for your viewing pleasure though.

Also, i got a trade with another art pal. It's a lot more basic. draw a girl in an exotic location. Throw out some super heroine suggestions and i'll give the best suggestion a go.

=) No takers on a super heroine request? Just looking for a good suggestion. Only doing one! Not first come first serve, just whichever one looks or sounds the most appealing.

I'm guessing you're referring to the digital lines when you mention Wood. Someone pointed him out to me a bit ago. I picked up one of his books (MGS i think). Good stuff. As for drawing books, i have about 1% of the skill a professional comic book artist. And that's being overly modest. So much goes into professional books, it really goes under radar to the untrained eye. I remember really wanting to draw for comics when i was a teen. Not so much these days.

anyways, attempting to draw everyday. Here's the last weeks worth. Gonna carry this on through the end of February and see where it goes from there.

Alot of these are quick sketches. Not a whole lot of concentration in finishing anything.

Your work is excellent. I know you site Joe Mad and Chris Bachalo as your favorite artists (they are amoung mine as well), but I can see some similarities to Skottie Young and Jonboy Meyers in your work as well. Are you familiar with their work? At any rate, those are beautiful pieces. You have a great mesh of traditional and manga influence.
