DAILY SKETCH 28-06-2011: The Rocketeer

The Rocketeer … I never read the comic, but the 1991 film was great. Actually one of the first successful comic film in my opinion.
The film celebrates his 20 years anniversary. John Banana made an animation in Pixar-style to celebrate.
See this as my contribution ..

@RalfvdH: YES!!  I've been waiting for someone to do a Rocketeer piece and here we go, an outstanding one by you.  Excellent job, love it.  I agree, The Rocketeer movie was indeed one of the better successful comic book based movies.   Just to add, the movie pretty much followed the story line of the comics with just a few minor changes, so the movie is very similar to the comic books.

Weird fact ! After the 20th Anniversary Showing of The Rocketeer Dave Steven's Mom (who attended the screening) passed away. Last thing she watched was her son's creation.

@Raven0207:  That I didn't realize or have forgotten.  That is touching, actually, for that to have happened.  It is still sad that Dave Stevens is also no longer alive.

Try reading the comic if you have the opportunity. It is an excellent book.
