You can either follow the layouts and story I provided or make up 1 or 2 pages of your own original art and storyline. Only main rule is to use the characters I chose. Have fun!!! (8 D
The focus is for us to get practice at telling a story by competing against each other and working against a deadline. What I wanted to add was, that if there are artists that like the character(s) chosen they are welcome to put their own drawings into the mix to highlight their art.
The only thing is that, unless it's a full page layout of a story, panel to panel it will not be part of the voting process but will add diversity and character to the topic. I know most of you do not have time to deal with cranking out a full page of layouts and this will give an opportunity to everyone that has something to show and share.
Contest will end on or around the1st of September
CRANK THOSE PANELS #8 Captain America/Bullseye

@DavidR: I actually own this comic ! Great Choice ! I'm all in !
Great, may the wheels of creativity and practice start movin'!
As usual let me know if you need more time with your schedule, I know, I'm the one that almost held it up last time but I slid under the wire, Limbo dancin' anyone?
I dont understand the rules for these kind of contests, ive seen a few but dont know what id have to do? I might enter if i knew
I dont understand the rules for these kind of contests, ive seen a few but dont know what id have to do? I might enter if i knewYou have two choices in how to enter. You can come up with your own story and art and make it 1-2 pages or follow the story and panels from the one I provided as an example, just your version of it.
The main thing I am asking you to do, is to use the same characters I chose, Capt'n America and Bullseye.
Hope that helps and looking forward to your entry.
@Raven0207: Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I can't wait to see your submission. If it's anything like your Two Face / Joker artwork, it should be really cool.
Even though it was a rush job on your part with your schedule, it clearly shows what you where trying to convey, great job making the effort to post it so quick. As usual I am grateful you took the time to join, thanks!
@payno:
Thanks Payno, cool way of expressing the flow of the panels. Really like what you came up with. Great way of balancing the blacks and whites and clearly getting the point across! No words needed or colors!
Great effort, glad you joined! Everything looks good and I can see nice clean lines and pushing yourself to get the story understood. Remember, the boxes are refereed to as "panels' in case you show your stuff to the pro's. Thanks much for your addition, nice work and hope to see more!
I will still ink this.
The scanner is not picking up some details in my pencils but at least you guys can see the flow of my panels.
Comments will be much appreciated.
I know its very much similar to the source comic but I added more angles and one panel showing only the face of Captain America showing both surprise and fear because he got hit. (Did he really got hit by the dagger people? I don't have the comic book so I am clueless)
@Sky_Jokiel
Thanks! I am excited as well. Its been a long while since, I did a comic book panel and I am drawn to panels done this way.
@Raven0207
Thanks for the heads up... I guess, that gives me an artistic license to play my own conclusion...so I guess a shocked Capt America is just fitting to end a comic... the reader will feel "Ah, he got hit!" Only to find on the next comic "not!". LoL
Also, thanks for appreciating the angles.. I look forward in enhancing it with my inks.
Thanks DavidR
Finally got this guy finished. I opted to go for inks and pencils on this one. Kinda got inspired by the concept of The Crow.
Thanks Man, I appreciate that! Added another partial panel for you.
I have been going through a bit of a creative dry spell and decided to push through it, I was a little worried nothing would look any good. Since the companies wont give me a benefit of a break in case I was able to work for them, I know excuses do not work at that level so I have to rely on what I have learned so far. Fortunately it seems to be coming along. : )
@DavidR: Holy Crap That is awesome !
Hey there Stranger, we meet again! Buahahaha, are you ready for another Showdown at the Ok Viners Corral?!
Just Kidding, hoping you will jump in there with your post, are you almost done or do you need more time?
Thanks, glad you like it so far!
Man, I am sorry to hear that. Fully understand how that can set you back. I too will be out for a while after this one. I just got the Ok for Surgery to fix a herniated abdomen from my Surgery last year, it will be in less than two weeks and I will be out for about 2 months recovering. Not always in the mood to draw until I get my strength back. Hopefully I will still get sketches done somewhere in there since my Tablet will be in bed with me. ; P
I was looking forward to a rematch...Hehehe!
Almost done, one panel left but will have to wait until tonight for me to finish it. Have a date with my bed and then some appts. Should be done and posted later tonight.
Here's another sneak peak since resizing will blur a lot of my detail I am posting bits and pieces in preview form full size. : P
Hope you guys like....
Yaaay! I finished my Homework, can I go out and play??!
It's a pain drawing when u don't feel like it, I guess that's why I was sketchier with this page than any other I have done. Focused mainly on improving my composition. I am happy with the overall results. Hope you guys can enjoy it, didn't feel word balloons where necessary but may add them if I ink the page.
Voting will start tonight. (8 D

Really means a lot, thanks!Beautiful work DavidR! Definite win :-)
I am having more fun looking at it than when I was drawing it. I have always liked art that I could feel part of being there and that is my focus as I continue to learn and hopefully to pass it on to the readers.
Have some things I will change when I do the last version but at least it's ready for voting. Slow poke me! : )
Thanks for the Compliment!
Actually it really felt too much like work this time around but I can sit back and enjoy it more now that it's done. Looking at the positives and learning from stuff I need to improve on. That third panel actually was the last one I did, it's my favorite too for the same reasons you liked it. He is actually sitting down, not sure if his cigarette is noticeable, dropping from his mouth. He is a homeless man enjoying a smoke with his Colt45 as a chaser. At one time he was a rich investment banker who fell on hard times. On the 5th panel Cap's shield has the origin of where it was made.
All things are made in China nowadays, hehehe, aren't they?
