Costume Contest #48 - Emma Frost

I'm gonna go with a character who seems to cause controversy and head turning everywhere she goes.

She's had a lot of looks, you could mix and match those or come up with something even more over the edge.

For this one, bonus points if you do manage to incorporate a thong ;D

@tonis: Yeah yeah yeah...go tell it to the Pope! Bwa Ha Ha! A Smoking Pope, that is. That is a band G-Man likes. I know too much about CV peeps. Anyway, OK, well, I already know a few knuckleheads here who will love to do the "thong song" with Emma.

@cosmo111687: You drew that in less than 3 hours? Sheesh. Did you use colored inks or marker on it? I can tell the outline is ink but the coloring is nice yet I can't tell what was used. Something else? Love the pose and line work.

@cosmo111687: I see. Its a nice job. Just amazed how quickly you churned that out. You and DomDom should be re-named Speedy and Flash. Nice work, and thanks for filling me in, it is a nice effect.

@IcePrince_X: damn, I'm hard pressed to decide which makes me drool more, the pencils look so good even by themselves, but I do love the subtle coloring you did on the final :)

@Blizaga101: I wish they had a 'like' button too, I'd be clicking it twice this time. Great design and I like the look with the water pencils, well done :)

That's gotta be one of the prettiest renditions of her face yet, and I like how the long cape/coat accents her figure.

Trying to get my stuff done early this month because I'll be away the last week.

Ok, it's not a thong, but thanks to strategic lighting it has the same effect :)

Besides the boots and the gloves everything else she has on is what I'd call a 'psychic tatto'. It basically is an 'impression' she puts out to anyone seeing her that can look any way she wants.

This allows her to switch to her diamond form without ruining outfits and dealing with the restraints of cloths.

Thanks, like Emma said, the best body and face money can buy.   I can't help but wonder how long you've been waiting to use that pose and outfit.

haha, well I don't tend to wait so when I wanna try something I usually concoct a legit excuse :)

believe it or not parts of the outfit have slipped into a render here or there but definitely they are much more subtle than in this.

You only get so many opportunities for some things and Emma's one of those XD

besides, consider the creative possibilities of a psychic creating her costume and how that ends up looking based on different characters personalities. You got all sorts of versions you could make depending on if it's Scott, or Logan, etc.. looking.

Plus by seeing how they see her (based on her push) you get insight into her manipulative little mind ;)

Love all the Emma's so far!! Erm, I'm new to these threads, am I right in thinking that its okay to have like a design piece that shows the character from different angles within the picture/image??? Oh and deadline is like... more than a week away right or am I... 

@SC: You have to create your own artwork. The goal is not to use any existing images nor tracing. Some of the art shown is used with Photoshop or Gimp or via a Wacom Tablet as well as 3D renderings using poses as base from which to create your own art. Naturally there are pencils, inks, markers and colored pencils as well. I am not sure how you mean it, but using an already existing image like from a gallery on the site or from a comic book really is not encouraged.

@mfundo: I like how you used the X design on her top. Nice one! @SC: I see. Sorry for my misunderstanding. Well I would assume that would be quite acceptable. I can't speak for the person running this contest but having the same drawing but with 3 different poses, I think that would be quite all right in my opinion. :) I know what you're getting at now. Wow, sounds cool, can't wait to see what you will enter.
