Each week we hunt down the coolest comic book art that won't appear in comics. The reason they won't is because artists often post sketches and commissions on their blogs, Twitter and Tumblr accounts. They are just too good to go unnoticed.
Did you read DAREDEVIL this week with Paolo Rivera's gorgeous artwork? If not, run down to your local comic shop (after you check out all these sketches) and pick it up. Paolo does a lot of commissions at conventions and posts them on his blog (check out his behind the scenes look at his issues as well). I don't know how he finds the time to do them all. Check out his Daredevil (in original yellow costume!) and the Green Goblin (much much cooler that Norman Osborn's super-adaptoid look).
I sure do love looking at Adam Kubert art. I just discovered his Tumblr. Adam posted a few of his recent sketch cover pics.
We've had a little bit of a Skottie Young draught here lately. But to make up for it, he posted a bunch of sketches he did at Planet Comic Con in Kansas City. Take a look at his Madman, Superman, War Machine and others.
Last week we saw a sketch of Death of the Endless from 1968 by Gene Gonzales. He also posted some others on his blog since. Take a look at his Riddler and Catwoman from 1968 along with a sketch of the Metal Men he did last year.
Robert Atkins is keeping himself busy. He posted a few commissions on his blog recently. He has an email address listed if you have any questions about his art. Take a look at his renditions of Baroness, Scarlett, Spider Jerusalem, Thing and Snake-Eyes.
David Cutler posted this sketch of Luke Skywalker and Yoda on his Tumblr. We don't seem to get enough Star Wars pics. Maybe I'm just missing them.
What time is it? It's time for some ADVENTURE TIME sketches. Michael Walsh posted this more serious version of Finn and Jake on his Tumblr.
Speaking of ADVENTURE TIME, Chris Samnee posted his art for the Emerald City Comic Con variant cover of ADVENTURE TIME #1. We'll bend the rules a little and allow this to be featured here. Does someone want to pick up a copy and mail it to me since I won't be attending?
Someone reposted this Chris Giarrusso sketch of Captain Cold. I'm not sure if it's a new piece but since Cold was featured in THE FLASH #7 and because I love Chris G's art, take a look at his mini-version.

I mentioned how Daniel HDR is such a nice guy. He does a lot of commissions and posts them on this Tumblr and website. Check out his site for more information and look below to see what he's posted this week.
Peter Nguyen posted the finished version of his latest print featuring the Gotham City Sirens on his Tumblr. What makes it even more interesting is he posted the penciled, inked and finished versions. I love seeing the different stages.
Todd Nauck posted a Wolverine piece he did late last year on his Tumblr. I still miss the yellow and brown costume. It's a better combination over yellow and blue.
Dustin Nguyen posted a couple pics on his Tumblr. Check out his version of Daredevil and the Fantastic Four.
You might have seen the Mystery Art Challenge video from WonderCon posted earlier this week. I went up to some artist and gave them the challenge. Some of them have played this game before. The idea is they are put on the spot and have to draw a familiar character with an uncommon accessory. Previous challenges have included Batman with a Broom and Catwoman as a Green Lantern. This challenge was Iron Man and a Roller Coaster (since WonderCon took place next to Disneyland this year).
