We all love comic book art, right? Each week we gather up the coolest comic art that will never appear in actual comic books. The reason you won't is because artists often draw sketches for fun or for commissions and post them on their websites, blogs, Tumblrs and Twitter pages. They are too cool to be overlooked.

Ryan Stegman posted a couple Spider-Man pics on his Tumblr. He's thinking of getting prints made. Maybe you could head over and help him decide which one.

Marcio Takara has been busy this week. He's posted a bunch of pre-NYCC commissions sketches on his Tumblr. Some lucky people are getting some great artwork.

Cameron Stewart has been doing some commissions as well. He posted some sketches on his Instagram page this week.

Phil Noto added a couple new pics this week on his Tumblr. Check out his elegant Havok and Polaris along with a Breaking Bad pic.

Daniel HDR is another artist working on pre-NYCC commissions. It's great to see more and more artists doing this. Check out his Tumblr for more information.

Francesco Francavilla posted pics on his Twitter page of sketches he did at Baltimore Comic Con. He also posted another Doctor Who image on his blog.

Gene Gonzales did this nice Vixen piece this week and posted it on his blog. When will we see Vixen in the New 52?

Edit: Wow, I totally forgot/blanked about her being in JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL. Oops.

Brett Booth does a new sketch each week and posts it on his blog. Check out his Nightwing in action.

Philip Tan didn't post as many sketches on his Facebook this week. It's always great to see his take on the characters.

Michael Walsh posted a couple sketches on his Tumblr this week. Check out his DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN Wonder Woman and a Typhoid Mary sketch he did for "Sketch Request Mondays."

Agnes Garbowska posted a few great pieces this week on her Tumblr. If these don't bring a smile to your face, I don't know what will.

Robert Atkins posted a couple sketches this week. He also posted some colored versions on his blog. I'm not sure if these pieces are brand new but they're worth looking at for sure.

Mike McKone posted a nice classic Lion-O on his TwitPic page. Hooooo!

It's great to see so many takes on Carol Danvers new costume. Here's Todd Nauck's version posted on his Tumblr.

Peter Nguyen is also headed to NYCC and doing some pre-NYCC commissions. Check out his Tumblr to find out if you can arrange one yourself.

Chris Giarrusso did a cover drawing of Superman Vs. Spider-Man. Head over to his site to see if it's still available to buy. He also started a "Sketch Cover Sunday" feature and did Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Paolo Rivera is taking some limited pre-NYCC commissions. You can find his contact info on his blog if you plan on going and want a commission.

Joel Gomez posted a commission on his Tumblr of Bat-Batman. Or should we say, Batman with a Bat?

Here's a 'warm up paint sketch' Mitch Breitweiser posted on his site. Amazing that this is just a warm up.

Mahmud Asrar is continuing to post sketches on his Instagram. Check these out.

Dustin Nguyen

If you saw the Live Show yesterday, you know Brian Buccellato was in the office. Here's the sketch he did while doing the interview. He'll be at Comikaze Saturday and Sunday. Check out his site for more info.

That's it for this week. We'll have more art coming in the next installment.

The Noto stuff is fantastic this week. I love the Dustin Nguyen Punisher and Daredevil watercolors too.

Wow! Tons of great stuff! Dustin Nguyen is a boss!

#3 Posted by SnakeEyes327 (56 posts) - - Show Bio

That Gunslinger Spawn piece is pretty awesome.

#4 Posted by Necrotic_Lycanthrope (2388 posts) - - Show Bio

Dustin Nguyen's bleeding Punisher-to-Daredevil is INTENSE! Usually I'm not big on paints, but that just hits it on the head how gritty and nasty these guys' world is, even in the colorful Marvel Universe as a whole.

LOL how did Walter White get in there, the worst villein of them all.

Another great collection. Awesome stuff!

Dustin Nguyen always make such memorable stuff. Of all the people I follow on Deviant Art, he's one of the best. And one of the nicest too.

There's not a dud in the bunch! I may be in love with Robert Atkins' Marvel Girl and, of course... NOTO!

#17 Posted by cyberchop979 (451 posts) - - Show Bio

We have already seen Vixen in the new 52. She was in JLI.

#18 Posted by sturmritter (56 posts) - - Show Bio

While I still think last weeks pics were all outstanding, this week's certainly are quite good. (Not quite the level of last week, but still great!) I especially like the Ryan Stegman extreme foreshortening on Spiderman's arm.

#19 Posted by Big_Nasty (342 posts) - - Show Bio

These pics started off kind of plain at first but were amazing towards the end .

#20 Posted by Twentyfive (2843 posts) - - Show Bio

Vixen, Ms. Marvel, and Harley Quinn were my favorites. Vixen needs to make a return already. They injured her for no reason.

#21 Posted by Decept-O (7275 posts) - - Show Bio

Both Peter and Dustin Nguyen continue to blow me away with their work. Just...WOW. Nice to see a full body sketch by Todd Nauck this time. Mahmud Asrar's work is impressive. Again, all the art is wonderful!

#22 Posted by umbrafeline (5300 posts) - - Show Bio

we need, well i need, more pictures of kitty pryde in her classic blue costume with the belt, mask and gloves. and why is spawn wearing slashes hat? :-)

#23 Posted by ARMIV2 (8306 posts) - - Show Bio

All so awesome. Some real inspiring stuff!

#24 Posted by Mbecks14 (2068 posts) - - Show Bio

Marcio Takara's work is so beautiful! Dr Doom, Shadowcat, and the Flash are my favorites by him!

Cameron Stewart's work is looking great! His Captain Marvel, Catwoman, and Batman are solid! I love the marker on Batman. I love Noto's work! The Havok and Polaris is very cool!

I don't really like Daniel HDR's work. Most of his figures look a little wonky, his style isn't my favorite. But I do LOVE his Shazam piece i think that looks great!

Francesco Francavilla has a really cool style! That Joker is chilling and the Creature From the Black Lagoon is sick! But I don't love the catwoman piece :/ Love Gene Gonzales' Vixen! Wasn't she on the JLI? I used to not like Phillip Tan's work, but it's really grown on me. I love his pencils.

Garbowska's Hotdog Princess and Marceline are adorable! i love Robert Atkins' Marvel Girl!

Mike McKone's work here has all been great! I love the coloring technique on this Lion-O. I miss him on a regular series, what's he working on these days? Nauck's Captain Marvel looks good! But she has weirdly tiny legs. I love the background water color wash though!

Peter Nyugen usually makes all his figures too skinny imo but I think his Magneto turned out awesome! Always love Giarrouso's cartoons :) And I LOVE Pablo Rivera's style!

Mitch Breitweiser's Captain America looks cool on the bluegreen paper! Mahmud Asrar's Elektra and Emma Frost look great!! Always love Dustin Nyugen! Love the wash Daredevil and Kingpin!

Oh Agnes, that cuteness of Miss Marvel and Jessica Drew having tea, in the bobblehead style that only Agnes can do. Stegman opening the article. Paola Rivera's one picture, still arguably the BEST on the page. Takara's Flash,... almost an Iron Fist shoulder up. So much awesome

Apart from Nightwing and Firestorm I feel a bit let down this week.

Billy's awesome. Whenever I see something with "Captain Marvel" I click thinking it's Billy, then it ends up being Carol or Mar-Vell, and I'm sad, haha

@blackadamFTW: Yeah it's always misleading. I'm getting used to the Shazam monkier though

Yeah. I'm not a big fan of the whole name change thing. How's he gonna say his name without turning into Billy?

He probably has to intend to transform, like a spell. You can say it and mean it or you can just say it. That's my prediction

You're probably right. Didn't they do the same thing when Freddy Freeman was called Shazam?

My picks of the week are Marcio Takara's Kitty Pryde and Mike McKone's Lion-O.

These are all really nice looking pics.
