We'll be announcing the winners for June on 7/15 so be sure to VOTE if you haven't.

Some details have been adjusted in the past few months so please review to make sure you know the deal:

TIMELINE: It's open for work created from the 1st of the month untill the end of the month. There will be 14 days of polling after and winners of each category will be announced on the 15th.

RULES TO ENTER: It would be chaos without them, so here's the premise.

1) There's no set theme, an artist can post any work they've done within that month but they must choose ONE FOR ANY MEDIUM THEY CHOOSE TO ENTER by the deadline (defaults to their most recent unless specified).

2) For their submission choice they MUST include the following information when posting:

MEDIUM : Traditional / Digital / B&W / Color / Web Comic (required - if you don't specify which medium that it's for, it's not a submission)

REASONS FOR CHOOSING : (not required - but offers insight into the artists creative thought)

SUPPLIES / DESCRIPTION : (not required - but offers insight into the artists creative process)

POLLING: the first 14 days of the next month voters will be able to submit there choices for the following criteria before the winners are announced:

All votes will also apply as points to the 'Artist of the Year' ladder which you can track at THIS THREAD HERE.

MEDIUMS: (pick what you feel your entry fits under)

Best Traditional Drawing (paper/pencil/ink/paint/canvas)

Best Digital (tablet/3d/photo)

Best B&W

Best Color

Web Comic / Strip / Panels

For this category you may submit a sample (1 IMAGE) of any Web Comic/Strip/Panel layout that you've produced for 2011. In the case of web comics you should also provide a link to where to view the entire comic.

GENRES: (You don't submit to these below, they are chosen from all entries above)

Comedy
Horror
Originality
Special FX

PROGRESS:

Most Improved

Each vote will count as a point for the artist and the one with the highest point count will be considered the overall 'Artist of the Month'. Voters can vote once for all criteria or just the ones that they can come up with a choice. I know there's no glory of picking the next theme but it does offer an artist a chance to focus more on different areas of their work and get a decent idea of what parts of their work people do like.

Here's hoping all you great artists can pluck something out of your monthly pieces to submit :)

Omg, my first submission to a contest here in mooonthssss! I did this yesterday :D Digital/color, I guess. But it was inked traditionally. I choose this to submit becaaaaauseeee it's the only drawing I've done so this month D: The rest I've done is my webcomic, but I can't show it yet. Whoot.
#28 Posted by tonis (6202 posts) - - Show Bio

@HarlequinKiss: awesome to get to showcase some of your work, I know you've been busy as hell on some cool stuff that I've only seen teases of.

I like a lot of things on this one, from the modern representation of a vehicle to the bad ass looking character and composition that provides the ultimate backdrop. Plus the little things like the bikes jaw are great comedic bonuses, a total A+ on the report card :)

We do have the 'Webcomic/Panel' category that you can also throw a 'tease' of the story work you've got going. Without a doubt your panel work has always got my jaw dropping.

@MuadDiab: great!
who's the character who looks like stormshadow?
#35 Posted by MuadDiab (331 posts) - - Show Bio
@spawndon: Is StormShadow GI Joe or something? Not knowledgeable in that area I'm afraid, sorry.

Well this is Uncanny X-Force: Fantomex, Psylocke, Archangel, Wolverine and Deadpool. My favorite Marvel series at the moment
#36 Posted by tonis (6202 posts) - - Show Bio

@MuadDiab: some kick ass X-Force for traditional. I'm loving how you accurately portrayed Wolvies height like that, nice little comedic touch :D

#37 Posted by MuadDiab (331 posts) - - Show Bio
@tonis: Thanks, man. This idea for this one just popped into my head one night and I could not wait to do it.

I had to have Wolverine and Deadpool acting funny as I thought the tension between the others was evident. If you're reading Uncanny you'll probably get it more I suppose
