Artist Show-Off Showdown #80 : Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

This is kind of special to me, this is what started it all. I was super into tmnt as a kid. Seriously it was like my life was complete when I finally got the full set of the guys and my turtle van. I would spend countless hours of my childhood drawing ninja turtles, asking my parents to rent me ninja turtle vhs' from sam goody. I had the toy nun chucks Michelangelo being my favorite of them all, so that's the subject. You can do one, two, three, or all four. I personally am going to try and do all four and go all out on it.

I'm going to let this run on until the 23rd, if I get objections to that date because it's too long then we can make it the 16th. Majority rules!

I don't believe the showdown out of all 80 have we ever ventured into turtle town, I'll go check. But even if it was done before I think it will be okay to revisit if some didn't get to do it before. I found some kick ass examples for you to go by. No matter your "skill level" just enter something, it's not about who wins, it's about sharing your talent with the other people here guys.

Seeing as the new TMNT series and the collection books are on the way (WAAAANT!!) this is pretty timely. Haven't drawn Turtles in a while. =)

How long ago did not draw a turtle?? ? Pfff years and years .

I just picked up issue one of the new tmnt I totally recommend it, it's pretty awesome.

At this moment, this is my entry but I will try to fix or make a background.

you're totally right, I jumped on right after they were drawn all goofy and had a serious look to them, the books were also black and white.

This is my final entry. Don't made big change, I change colors and add some minors details.

i never read the comics or seen the new shows. was only introduced via the original cartoon and videogames (nes and snes).  
 
this looks nothing like any of them, but enjoy.

haha Love the kill bill turtle!

This is the laziest submission i've ever entered. I didn't feel like drawing a new pic cause i remembered i drew this guy out way earlier this year, during a lecture i was in. His arms aren't done very well. And when i began to color him in i didn't feel like erasing the paper lines. but in anyway, i hope some of you like it.

So its been a while since I picked up a pencil to draw anything. Hell, its been a while since I came and looked at everything on the vine properly.  
The turtle's were one of my favourite shows to watch as a kid. I remember waking up early in the morning and watching it religiously. Lol 
 
Here's my rendition of Mikey, everyone's favourite pizza eating, skateboarding, wise cracking, nun-chuck twirling, hero in a half shell. Inspired by Teenage mutant ninja turtles Book II.. (I have the third reprint from 1989)
I used pencils for the drawing and spent a good couple of hours trying to figure out and colour with photoshop!! :D

I see what you're saying, I have since addressed it, hopefully it looks a bit more natural. I didn't want to focus on that too much and not work on the rest of the image lol.

Turtles Forever was on this past weekend, I think I have watched it 6 times already 
Might enjoy that more then the awesome TMNT movie if that is possible... 
 
So I am thinking the 23rd is a great deadline, as it will give me the time to finish this 
as I have done nothing but work on this project since it began lol 
 
So the plan is to draw and ink each Turtle separately to then link it up in PS before applying color 
I have finished penciling all 4, and Raph seemed to be the strongest of the four, so I went ahead and inked him first 
 
I hope to finished by next Monday :) 
but in the meantime, enjoy the preview !!
