BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

Hello all, thanks for voting for my in the last Showdown -- bare with me as this is the first time I've instigated this sorta thing!

For the next SHOW-OFF SHOWDOWN I'm sticking with DC and asking you all to submit your renderings of one of comic-dom's all-time greatest duo's: BLUE BEETLE & BOOSTER GOLD!  I would say preferably I'd love to see the Ted Kord Beetle, but why limit it -- chose whichever Blue Beetle you dig most!

Contest will last 1 week, finishing up on 1/24/2011 at 12:00PM EST!  Sound okay?  (Shatterstar, please step in and gimme a hand if needed!)

Here are some pics:

@thecheckeredman: I like your choice, a lot actually, but 7 days (6 days now for me). Too short with 3 other contests due on the 14th and 15th.
A week just aint enough time to get a decent submission done. Not all of us can whip our stuff out on lunch breaks unfortunately.

I'd be lucky to get started by the 16th with the current workload. Wouldn't be able to do them any real justice.

@DomDom:
I like it. Nice colors, sort of a "pop art" feel to it.

I thought I'd go for a minimalist approach with this one.

@soundbite:
Didn't even realise this was my 100th post.  Thanks for pointing it out.

@thecheckeredman:
Thanks. The characters both have instantly recognizable, iconic costumes.

I could see a repetitive painting of this ala Warhol's Marilyn Monroe and Soup Cans hanging in my den.

second that emotion

@DomDom: that's very ok, great take on the bros :)

@payno: if they ever got their own manpad castle to rule, that is very much how the flag flying out front would look, iconic :)

I got my idea for my entry...now to find the time to draw it!  :-)

@DomDom: whoa, don't know how I missed this but brains been all over the place the past few days. Awesome job doing a boys night out :)
There's this crazy muscle toning from the way you did the inks that just trips me out, I love it. The gradient effect you did on the colors really helps accent that too.

@tonis:
=) Thanks!
My Sis seems to like it too.
Like sora_thekey, I never drew these guys before and I tell you what it was fun!

yea, I've only amalgamated Beetle once, but Boosters a first for me too.

Can't say I know much about these guys.I did love they way they were portrayed in the Justice League International during the 90's.These are just a re-imagining of the suits Hope Ya like 'em

@Satansunday: man did I LOVE those 90's goofballs too. And I LOVE what you did with them. Sleek designs on the uniforms and Boosters blue is way cool.
#38 Posted by Satansunday (78 posts) - - Show Bio

Thanx gave them the Zak Snyder treatment,just was watching Watchmen last night when I thought them up.On second thought I would have gone more TRON with Booster-I mean he is from the future right? So the suit would look cool Glowing. Maybe one of the other talented folks out there can answer the challenge.

@Satansunday: Booster looks great!  Love the darker blue!  Great job!

Ok, so here is my entry...bear wih me their is a story behind this one.
Back during the JLI days, Superman needed the help of the League to take the fight to Darkseid, however all that available was Booster and Ted. Not having much choice Superman brought them along, and this image is a result of their first trip through a BoomTube
enjoy!
This is a homage to those really entertaining and funny moments that we have all come to love. I could not help but to do a small BWHAHAHA while doing this
These challenges are awesome great to be apart of them
thanks again
