My first ever Amalgam contest :P (if you canny tell, sorta exited)

Anyway welcome to the contest, hopefully ive created an interesting enough contest with the characters ive chosen to meld.

This is contest is all about dynamic duos :P

First being my favourite superhero duo... Cloak and Dagger :D

Interesting choices. I loved Cloak and Dagger back in the 90s. Never actually seen a Hawk and Dove comic. I think I remember them from the Justice League animated series, but I thought they were brothers in that version. I may be misremembering though, it's been a long time. Either way, an interesting choice. Not sure if I'll be able to come up with anything interesting enough for this one, but I promise I'll try. :)

you're right. I was thinking of an entry I worked on for Superhero offspring in the character creation contest.

OK. I'll admit it. I'm completely lost on this one. I have NO idea how to merge these two teams in any meaningful way. :(

@Blizaga101: I know this thread hasn't had much action so far, but I gotta tell you, this is a great, logical pairing. I love it. It's what amalgam contests should be about. In an amalgamated universe these duos would make perfect analogs for so many reasons. But they're just different enough that it's super challenging. I've been working on it, and I just about cracked a decent 50/50 visual melding, but conceptually I got nothing. Similarly, I HAD a perfect concept but couldn't make it work visually. I don't do a lot of amalgam contests here, even though amalgams are something I obsess over, because so many of the choices are so nonsensical or not even strictly amalgams (mash-ups of characters from the same universe shouldn't count, IMO) and I'd hate for you to think this was a bad choice because no one's come up with anything.

@J_Evan: thanks for the vote of confidence, appreciate it. I understnad its challenging but thats why i chose these duos, I wanna awaken artists drive to create something unique and i find a challenge brings that out in the best in us. I have my designs finished but i wanna wait till this post gets more action yknow. But nah there still like two weeks or so left plenty of time for creativity to rise from the ashes :P

Im optimistic, cant wait to ee your design :D

These are two of my favorite duos, especially Cloak & Dagger who I've followed and collected since they first appeared in Spider-Man. I admit it was a little tough at the start but as I got further and further into it they sort of just all came together very naturally.

@Blizaga101: Clover, that actually works really well for me. Totally hadn't thought about mixing Cloak with Dove but now I see it and wish I had. Way to think out of the box :)

@payno: I was going to call my set "Chalk and Plunger". But I think your ideas are WAY better. :D

@tonis: wow thats actually pretty good...did you do that on a comp or what? Cuz i've been kinda coming up with this character in my head for the last few years now and i was hoping i could find someone on the vine to help me flesh out a written bio and someone to do some drawings for me. So what be the best way you think i should go about doing that?

@cassiuss: thanks, yea I did it in a 3D program called Smith Micro Poser 2012. It's one of the easier 3D programs to grasp :)

I'd be happy to help out with visualizing your character if I can, PM the details and I'll let you know what I could do.

from the way their poses look you could also go with Clove and Nagger, it almost looks like she's bitching at him and he's just throwing his arms up and saying "fine, you win" :)

ZZoMBiE13 the first pairing of Hawk and Dove were Both Brothers, yet that Dove died and so the female dove Dawn Granger took his place as Dove,in the 89-90 series, there was also another Hawk and Dove that both had wings, and also a female Hawk who was the sister to Dove in a series. So the characters that became Hawk and Dove have changed a few times, yet in the new 52 it's the Dawn Granger and Hank Hall ones that have emerged once again, though now the story seems to focus on what their powers are and what being avatars means.

Contest is now closed, thought id give it an extra day or two to see if anyone else entered, viting pm should be created tonight at some point :P
