yea, this actually had a format that compliments artists growth and encourages feedback and judging based on some REAL criteria. Alls we have now is a popularity contest that happens to have art over someones name.

should consider the approach he took with our current contests. Much better idea than what it is now. Least it sets criteria for people to consider and something to tell an artist what directions work and don't in their pieces.

I can't really force people to do that, other than start your own thread (which I think is a cool idea btw the way you've got it setup), people that win contests/showdowns get to say what the rules should be. I'm sure most artists would appreciate any constructive criticism (assuming the person isn't an ass about it and knows what they're talking about). Thats part of the point of this practice is to get better and if someone can offer tips/advice then all the better.
@emptytomb: No sir. I, unfortunately, went through an immature phase of my life where in I dragged friends into arguments I made so as to make me look at least not alone if I was losing said argument. Those friends just made profiles to make me look good. It didn't work though, meh. But it's in the past and I accept the fact that although once I was immature and stupid. I consider myself more of an adult now days :)
