Ha! Made ya look!

Ok its a different 3D art than what you probably thought...

My drawing Hobby has turned into work, one that I love but now I needed another hobby. What better way than to enjoy one but by sculpting my favorite Super Hero's.

A very few on here know that I sculpted years ago. I did a small Wolvie head and a figure. Both were a test to prove to myself I could sculpt. Due to work, time was limited and I havent had a chance to revisit the fun of creating something out of clay.

Here ya go, hope you like the progress. Had to stop since I ran out of clay and I can't find my sculpting tools to get the small details done.

Will post the finished project.

These were the originals I did years ago. Figured I would start with Wolverine again and compare the 2 when I'm done. :p

Dude, this looks fantastic. I've tried to get into sculpting before, I know it takes a lot of work - which makes this even more impressive.

It requires effort and time thats for sure! Work is when you dont like doing something.

I love doing this so it doesnt feel like work. Glad you like it and thanks!

At first I was like oh, this is bull.

Then I thought I could do better than this

On like the 3rd picture it got better but I was like "oh I'm a bit better"

A few more later "well I could still probably do that"

"ummmm........"

And finally "why god, why? Why is everyone better than me at everything!!????!!"

@itsomething:

I have to agree with you that we all feel that way at one point. It took a lot of practice to draw how I draw now.

I think that sculpting is an extension of what I already know in drawing and its actually really easy for me. I'm curious to see how this piece finally comes out. Never really painted anything like this before so I may screw it up. :p

Hope not, but if I do its about learning to do it better the next time. :D

@ramsillustrations hey dude, you are way better than me at sculpting may I just say. Right now I am working on a deadpool sculp and it's going pretty well. May I just ask what kind of clay did you use and where di you get it, it seems easer to mold with than my clay. I like the texture look more to.

I will,

busy week so far so I hope to start tomorrow were I left off...

@deadcool_xd:

If you are in the US, you can find Sculpey, Super Sculpey or Sculpey III at Hobby Lobby or Michaels and JoAnns Crafts. I think thats what its called. Walmart also carries it online and may be cheaper. I used Sculpey II on this one as a tester but on the first try it was Super Sculpey. Super Sculpey is supposed to be better for figure modeling sculptures. Sculpey III has a tendency to soften more as you use it but once its baked its pretty hard. I have read reports it can crack so Super is better for a more break resistant clay sculpture, it's also a bit more expensive but worth it.

@ultimategohan:

Thanks I will try...

@ramsillustrations: sad truth is I honestly do.

Perhaps because my art skills are close to nil I have huge appreciation for anyone who can draw.

I am pretty sure I have type the same phase or something similar over and over again on this forum.

Man this looks truly amazing.

And sculpting is really hard, i tried my best a year ago and i was able to make only a lame-looking bear.

But your work is really great.

The orginal one looks more like Sabretooth rather than Wolverine

@drfate:

Thanks, I really appreciate that!

His hair is the culprit on this one, If I changed the locks it would give it a more Wolverine look. Color may have helped since they differ in color. :p
