How to filter by nested fields?

I'm new to the API and was trying to do a simple (or so it seems) search to retrieve all issues of a comic with a certain title, such as Action Comics. The problem appears to be that the name 'Action Comics' appears as the 'name' field within a 'volume' field. My question is: if I'm doing a search on 'issues', how do I specify a filter on the volume->name field within the issue? That is, in a search like

http://www.comicvine.com/api/issues/?api_key=X&filter=volume:action%20comics

I get nothing returned, so how can I specify that I want to filter on the name field within the volume field?
