Mystery Blue Alien on 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Identity Confirmed

In Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. we know a blue alien has been seen. His blood was used in a serum to help bring back Phil Coulson when he died. The serum had a strange effect on Coulson. The same serum was used on Skye (Chloe Bennet) with no strange side effects.

After Coulson was injected, we started getting strong urges to carve alien symbols all the time. In Episode 207, "The Writing on the Wall," it was discovered the symbols were actually a 3D map for the location of a certain city. Many speculated the city was Attilan, the home of the Inhumans.

In this week's episode, "The Things We Bury," we saw flashbacks to Skye's mother, who was 'special' and didn't age normally before she was killed. This explains why Skye didn't have a strange reaction to the serum. We also found out, from her crazy father (Kyle MacLachlan) that her real name isn't Skye.

As for the blue alien, the show's executive producer, Jeffrey Bell, has confirmed to TV GUIDE that the alien is in fact part of the Kree race. Those unfamiliar with the race but have seen Guardians of the Galaxy should be familiar with Ronan the Accuser, a member of the race.

"Our people don't know anything about the Kree or that there's a planet full of them," notes executive producer Jeffrey Bell. "What they do know is that the strange carvings created by Coulson after he was injected with the Kree serum are actually the map of a city, and they need to find that city before Hydra does. But where is it? Here or on another planet?"

What do the Kree have to do with the Inhumans?

There is an Inhumans movie on the way from Marvel Studios in November 2018. The Kree were responsible for the creation of the Inhuman race when they experimented on mankind long long ago. You can read more about the Kree's history in comics HERE.

@leokearon: She said it. Actors don't necessarily 'confirm' things or are at liberty to. Also, as she's stated in interviews, she doesn't even know what's in store for her character. The cast didn't even know a certain character was going to be a HYDRA traitor. With the executive producer coming out and confirming it, that makes it official.

@jonsmith: I'd say it's possible there's more than one blue-skinned race in all the universe. Nebula is blue-skinned and she's not a Kree. Smurfs are blue-skinned...

They talked about 'Blue Angels' in the show last night bringing the Obelisk to a chosen few so it's definitely from the Kree and the logic points to the Inhumans from there if the Kree were trying to discern only a few people from the whole population.

The preview that they showed the team will be at in the next episode is the San Juan fort in Puerto Rico. I wonder if they are actually going to be in Puerto Rico or if they are going to transpose that fort to another location.

shows gettin good y'all! IMHO, this show is a much better watch when binge watched, it flows much better that way.

Now that i think of it, I remember Sif saying something to the effect that No blue aliens, other than The Frost Giants, have ever visited earth. So either her info was wrong (possible) or the body was brought here.

Most of us knew it was kree, I just didn't know about the inhuman thing.

I think the map is to Hala, the plant the Skulls and Kree fought over. It would make sense that the alien would be mad go there.

I find these comments so funny. don't believe actors but believe producers? whats the difference? they are both people lol. its been strongly hinted at for a while and until they say so on the show its still not confirmed and we've known since season one that skye was just a hacker/codename

Regardless of what is or isn't considered breaking news, and putting aside the trust issues that exist between viewers and various parts of a show's crew I think we can all agree that it was an awesome episode and everyone should be watching this AoS.

What I'm wondering is, are the Inhumans going to make their debut in TV or in the movie? It's not supposed to come out until 2019 but we can't be that far away from getting the full story about them on AoS, so how much can they give away on the show?

Hey Marvel, you dumb asses, if you put AOShit on Netflix in August, I'd have given it a second chance. NOW, the first 4 eps of S2 are gone from Hulu, there is no point in catching up as s2 wont be posted on netflix until late in s3's airing, assuming this crap gets renewed.

But Sky is an inhumanly Hot piece of ass, its just her acting, like this show, is inhumanly bad. One could say, its "Eternally" bad.

The minute I saw the Kree in Guardians, I knew it was that much more likely the guy in SHIELD was one. It's all coming together.

If its indeed Kree or the inhumans -who are Kree "creations", things are getting quite interesting for the good agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and their enemy H.Y.D.R.A especially if Kree or inhumans want that obelisky/pyramidal-thing back.

And what about those other dudes that keep writing those symbols, how did they get the 'urge' I doubt its from the serum that was given to Coulson?

Yes I also wanted to mention that. In that dialogue interchange she mentioned the Kree, as well as a few other species. Then she went on to tell Coulson that none of them had ever been to Earth. So now if they want to keep the show's continuity intact they have to include some sort of story about how Odin and Heimdall kept it a secret or the Kree somehow managed to avoid detection by Heimdall or something. I'm sure they have grand plans for this story. And I wouldn't be surprised if whatever explanation they give for this inconsistency has a large part in it.

They were injected with the serum, as well...They explained that either last episode or the one before that.
