Agent Peggy Carter to Appear in Season 2 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2 is set to return to ABC on September 23rd at 9/8C. The Hollywood Reporter stated that Hayley Atwell, who plays Agent Peggy Carter, and George Stephanopoulos (Good Morning America, House of Cards), p[laying himself, will be appearing in the season premiere of the show.

The episode is titled "Shadows," and in it, Agent Coulson and what's left of S.H.I.E.L.D., after the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, are doing what they can to keep the world safe.

Carter's appearance will make way for the ABC show Agent Carter, which will be a bridge over the holiday break. The premiere date has not been announced yet.

UPDATE: Apparently, that's not all! TV Guide released a photo featuring a few familiar faces appearing on this upcoming season as well.

That's right, we'll be seeing a few of the Howling Commandos as well!

Y'know what I just realized? The "Agent Carter" series will probably let the audience know about how Hydra is growing within S.H.I.E.L.D., meaning the show will have more foreshadowing for that twist than Marvel actually put before it.

I'm confused. Wasn't she an old bird in Cap 2? I'm going to assume the season is starting with a flashback or something. I can't remember who played her in Cap 2, but I'd rather see Sharon Carter in AOS. This isn't a knock on Atwell, I'm definitely going to check out the Agent Carter show.

Oh yeah, sophomore season is gonna be the Empire of the series. Darker, more characters, possibly droids.

Just picked up Season One today, I am totally not going to slow-mow the Skye-running-in-a-red-dress scene, no, not at all.

Hayley is a talent and a true dame. The only reason they're producing Agent Carter is because of her performance in the One-Shot video, as seen on the back of Iron Man 3. There is also an interview video from SDCC this year, with Hayley ... I got lost in her eyes.

I'm excited for the second season! The first season improved as it went along.

Here's hoping the show rebounds in the second season the same way Arrow did. I really have this feeling like the show could be on thin ice considering the high expectations it had. So they really need to pull out all the stops.

Hope that the second season keep improving.
