Adrianne Palicki Joins 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' as a Certain Familiar Avengers Character

For those complaining that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been lacking actual characters from the comics, there's some good news. Adrianne Palicki is set to guest star on the show.

Palicki is known for her role in Friday Night Lights, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and the Wonder Woman TV pilot that never aired. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Palicki will be appearing as Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird. With her spy-background, she makes the perfect addition to the show--a suggestion we've often made.

Palicki will appear on the fifth episode of the series now that Coulson has a bit of work to do restructuring his team. How much of a role she'll play in the series and the Cinematic Universe remains to be seen.

What are your thoughts on Palicki and Mockingbird joining the show?

@shadowswordmaster: The core cast is not from comics. They've all been created for the show. Nick Fury and Maria Hill aren't series regulars.

I wish I agreed with this casting, I just don't think Adrianne Palicki is that good an actress. Sure she may look that part but eh maybe it'll work out.

Maybe this time they won't kill off the only comic character they bring to the show (here's looking at you Victoria)

I'm only famiar with Palicki by name. But I like Mockingbird. This may actually push me to watch the show.

Amazing news. One of my all time favorite Avengers gets her own show :) I hope she is a big part of it and not just a cameo.

immediately thought of Mockingbird when I saw the link on the front page....I really haven't seen enough of Palicki to know if she's a good actress or not since I've only ever seen her in G.I.Joe and it's not like that role required any kind of Oscar worthy performance....she definitely looks the part though

@g_man: So this is more of the core cast then , since when have Garret , Eric Koeing , and Blackout appear already then.

But will she be playing Mockingbird as a superhero with the costume and the fighting sticks and all that? Or will she just be another plain-clothes agent who uses a gun and "Mockingbird" will just be a codename? I think that's a pretty important detail to leave out...

Finally. Was always confused why they decided to make up a bunch of new characters rather than use some that comic book fans would already have an attachment too, and Mockingbird should be a perfect fit.

I'm really really excited to see that Mockingbird has made her way into Agents of Shield. Having talked about Bobbi having her own television show, it's nice to see that they haven't totally written her off in the MCU! That being said, I really hope she isn't just another agent with a gun that helps them out - she better have the proper background, and yes I mean a biologist, would love to see her and Jemma butt heads (especially since I think they should have had Bobbi as the original biologist of the group) - and she better use her trusty battle staves instead of a gun.

As for her acting skills, I think she's a pretty good actress, and can't wait to see her in season two! Lets hope they make her a regular and we can get her into the movies to shack her with Hawkeye! ;P

She's hot and big, and a better actor than Gadot from what I've seen, would'v preferred her as WW.

kinda thorn. i was hoping for a new face but adrienne is a capable actress, not the greatest and she looks the part in that pic but dont know if she can capture the heart of the character. im afraid they might make her white version of may all stoic instead of the fun, brilliant scientist she is. they could mix simmions with may that would be the perfect mockingbird. i can hope but i have NO faith in this show

I don't get why people insist on using the "they're not good actor/actresses" as an argument. Let's be honest, name a good movie Chris Evans was in before Captain America, go ahead I'll wait. A good movie Chris Hemsworth was in before Thor. Let's not even start on RDJ. His career was in the toilet before Iron Man, so much they didn't even want him for the role. He was their last choice. After Snakes on a Plane nobody should have hired Samuel L Jackson for anything. Plus he was in that awful Star Wars trilogy. Shut up already.

She was like a totally different person in that movie. Even her body was different. I hope she continues to work with whomever sculpted her for that movie to play Mockingbird.

Too bad he never gets to do anything. So I doubt he's gonna show up in AoS. Hawkeye didn't even appear with Black Widow in Cap 2.

I've seen most everything she's done and she has a distinct easily recognizable look. I was just saying that in that movie I didn't even recognize her. I actually found out it was her because I looked her up trying to find out who she was. So imagine my surprise when I find out I already knew her. Then I went on to say I hope she keeps her instructors because they did a good job molding her for action.

She is 5' 11" Jeremy Renner 5' 10", if they meet in MCU (I doubt) marvel has to give him Tom Cruise treatment...

Wonder Woman! I really like Palicki as an actress and am happy to see here jump over to Marvel. I've never cared for Mockingbird, nor ever thought of Palicki for the role, but it totally makes sense. I'm stoked. Hopefully this is the first of many appearances in the franchise, maybe in the Jessica Jones Netflix show.
