    Trust in Trevor

    The Good:

After the Crime Syndicate's attack on the Justice Leagues and the world, the planet is in a state of great chaos. It's up to Steve Trevor and his fellow agents of ARGUS to rescue the President find out what happened to the Justice League.

I really enjoyed this issue for a variety of reasons. I've always been a fan of Sterling Gates and he delivers a solid opening issue for this Forever Evil tie in. I feel in the grand scheme of comics today, the human non-powered characters get lost in the shuffle quite a bit. When I heard Steve Trevor was getting his own series I was interested in seeing what kind of story we would get.

Two of the best parts of this issue were in flashback. We get to see Steve's crash on Paradise Island and we also see what led to the formation of the ARGUS organization. The moments between Steve and Diana are done very well and they actually leave me wanting a Steve/Diana reunion. Another good interaction is between Steve and Deathstroke and their time together in Team 7 is referenced.

    The Bad:

A good chunk of this issue is set up and we do get a couple of flashbacks. The flashbacks don't take up too much of the story but parts of the issue are things that have already been covered in Forever Evil. Thankfully, these don't take up too much of the issue like some of the FE tie in books so far.

    Overall:

This book was a pleasant surprise. Steve Trevor has been much more interesting in the new 52 as a character and that trend continues here. We're also introduced to some other members of ARGUS and also get the lowdown on how Steve escaped the Justice League's fate. Dr. Light also makes an appearance and from all indications will be a big part of this book also.

    4/5

I enjoyed this and can't wait to see how Steve's tale progresses.
