    Creation

    Yarisugi (ヤリスギ, Yarisugi) is a supporting character in the One Piece series that was created by Eiichiro Oda. The series first began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump on August 4, 1997. He would later appear in the Punk Hazard Island Arc that began in Volume 66.

    His first appearance was in One Piece Volume 6? CH. 673 "Vergo and Joker".

    Yarisugi's name translates in Japanese as やり過ぎ (yarisugi), which means "overkill" or to "over do (something)". This is reflected on how he overreacts to nearly all confrontation.

    When Commodore Yarisugi was being inundated with complaints from the locals about the missing children. They were asking to speak to Captain Tashigi. He became angry and struck at some of the people. His men had to stop him for going too far. He shouted at them that their children who had gone missing had all died in an accident at sea. It had even been confirmed by Vice-Admiral Vergo. He threatened to kill them all and burn the village down if they continued to question them about the matter. Again, his men had to tell him that he went too far with his threats..
