This issue opens with our three heroes walking through a desert road. They come across some dogs chewing what looks to be human bones. They come across a road kill yet to be buried, when a young woman comes out from nowhere brandishing a gun yelling at them to get away from the bodies. 355 quickly disarms the girl but the young lady says she was trying to save their lives not kill them.

After recognizing that Yorrick is a dude, she invites them too her place, so they can fill their canteens and tell the story. While there, we find out a militia has set oup road blocks, and are not very patient with outsiders.

During an argument about what to do, Dr. Mann acidently lets slip that she had created a cloned daughter, not a son as she has been telling the other two.

She storms out in a hufff, rather than talk about it. Later that night Agent 355 comes into Yorricks room. She can not find Dr. Mann on the premises. The book closes as we see Dr. Mann has decided to confront the militia to let the trio pass.

I thought it was kind of fun. This book introduces us to a character I actually like. She's an auto mechanic, living out in the desert by herself. Out of loyalty to the place she grew up in. She shaved her head out of practicality. The dialogue she uses, floats naturally and her reaction to Yorrick is appropriately big at fir...
