By the end of this issue, you’ll have your answer!
Synopsis
With the other members of their team busy, Siryn and Shatterstar play a training game in an abandoned church. Shatterstar ends up getting the best of Siryn and drives his sword into the ground. Siryn freaks out when she thinks she sees the reflection of Deadpool in the sword. She remembers the Weismann Institute and invites Shatterstar on a mission with her to free her old friend.
In Miami, Warpath and Risque enjoy a rather dangerous motorcycle ride, but it is interrupted when Warpath sees a youth being threatened by a small gang. The group is calling the kid a mutant and Warpath charges in to save the kid. Risque nearly kills the gang but is stopped by Warpath. The kid runs off, scared of his rescuers (he wasn't mutant himself, just a burn victim).
At the Weismann Institute, Siryn moves in to find Deadpool. Shatterstar, however, senses something familiar about the place and heads off on his own. He finds a computer but, before he can do any sleuthing, is found by Dr. Weismann, Jeremy Stevens, and possibly Deadpool.
Elsewhere, Siryn's mind begins playing tricks on her, as Deadpool seems to be appearing and pointing her every-which-way. At her wit's end, she finally locates Deadpool, who also seems to be suffering from delusions. The two are then found by Dr. Weismann and Jeremy. Something seems off about the two and Siryn gambles that the Gamesmaster has transferred from Jeremy to Dr. Weismann. A threat reveals this to be the case and the Gamesmaster willingly relinquishes his hold on all parties.
Outside, Siryn finds Shatterstar. He says that the Gamesmaster flooded his mind with memories of being a boy named Benjamin Russell and now he can't be sure who he is.
