Continued from last issue! X-Force is pegged for the death of the Externals. The NYPD may try to shake loose a confession, but another mutant, still roaming free, is behind this massacre!

X-Force is taken in and questioned by the NYPD. They tell of the killing of the Externals by the mutant Selene. They are eventually freed.

Note: Several characters only appear in flashbacks.

    Synopsis

X-Force has been brought in by the NYPD for questioning regarding the death of Gideon, a well-known Wall Street business man. Sunspot is the first to be questioned, as he was a former associate of Gideon's. He tells the cops how X-Force was fighting the presumed immortal Externals when Selene shows up and sucks the life out of Absalom.

Siryn is the next to be questioned, and she states that she showed up to the fight later. She relates that she had seen Warpath climb the building but then he appears to have vanished from Gideon's penthouse. She gets emotional at Warpath's disappearance and is excused.

Shatterstar is next but he absolutely refuses to cooperate. The police call him "Benjamin" and show him that he has a police record under such name. This unnerves Shatterstar.

Domino sits in the interrogation chair and infuriates the questioner by simply staring back at him. He orders her out.

Meltdown enters and casually produces a small bomb. She is cocky and tells the cops about Crule's death at the hands of Selene. As soon as Crule died, Cable arrived and tried to incapacitate Selene. She had fought back but noted that Cable's lifeforce was tainted. Meltdown then relates that X-Force tried a joint attack, but Selene shrugged it off. Selene then notes to Meltdown that Cannonball is not an External - despite what X-Force had been told by Cable. Then Selene had left. Cable had passed out and X-Force experienced a lapse in memory, as the next thing they know, Cable had disappeared (Blaquesmith whisked him away) and the cops were there.

Later, X-Force is released by Detective Jones. As she exits the precinct, she is approached by a mysterious figure who warns her that he represents a group that has zero tolerance for mutant sympathy.
