Prosh comes to X-Force and turns out he is Cable's computer system, Professor, given a body when a Phalanx loses its mind when connected to X-Force's computers. Cable's Techno-virus is going out of control because Prosh drains the power that keeps Cable alive. It is decided that Prosh must go, but to do so he must take the network and much of the base.

    Synopsis

Fresh from her mission to scout new locations for a new X-Force hideout, Domino enters the tunnels beneath Camp Verde to find that she is not alone. She goes topside to find the intruder and is nearly crushed by a goofy-looking metal man. After a quick exchange, Domino realizes that the person is none other than Professor, the sentient program that has run Cable's cybernetic systems since he was a child. Professor - or "Prosh" now - collapses after having run his battery cell dry attempting to fly.

Prosh wakes up to find X-Force gathered around him. He learns that Domino dragged him into the bunker and plugged him into the power supply. He then relates how he got his body: A Phalanx member infiltrated the bunker and attempted to infiltrate the cybernet but found the overflow of information contained by Professor far too much for the one body. The Phalanx died, but it's body remained, and Prosh was born. His exuberance at having his own body prompted him to run about madcap, which ultimately drained his energy.

While Prosh gets cozy with the team, Shatterstar notes something discouraging. Despite Prosh needing a high volume of energy, diagnostics shows that no power is being drained. Cable can't believe it, and he also can't believe that Shatterstar knows how to read fusion energy drainage systems. Prosh vouches for Shatterstar's intelligence and the team decides that they may need to conserve some energy to keep Prosh going, just in case something is interfering with the drainage-reading equipment. Cable welcomes Prosh to X-Force.

Days pass and X-Force gets some rest and relaxation in while they get used to their new teammate. Siryn goes out to find herself right in the middle of a football game. Warpath tackles her and then makes a move to kiss her. Siryn hesitates, and Warpath is hit in the head with the football. Domino watches this all from a distance. Cable calls her out for avoiding the team and she admits that she feels skittish when having to keep something from the team; it wasn't too long ago that X-Force thought that Copycat was the real Domino. Cable understands but asks that Domino keep his secret until they can find some evidence that Prosh's presence is killing Cable. He emerges from a tunnel with his metal parts covered in sharp obtrusions. Clearly something is interfering with Cable's ability to keep his body in check.

Later, Shatterstar discovers that a very high pitched frequency is scrambling all the electronics. Cannonball and Warpath find that the IPAC is covered in sharp "zits". This is enough for Cable and Domino to go to Prosh and inform him that he is ruining everything, even endangering Cable's life.

The team is pretty bent out of shape at Cable's condition and Prosh's negative impact. Prosh wants to discorporate and put himself fully back into the computers. Cable won't have it, as Prosh just only found life. The solution becomes that Prosh will leave and travel the cosmos, but he has to take every piece of equipment necessary to keep him alive and charged. This will put X-Force at a disadvantage, as most of their equipment and information will be taken, as well as a large part of their base. They reluctantly agrees that Prosh will have to go.

Once Prosh has accumulated his equipment he rockets off into space. Cable begins to feel better the further Prosh gets, which is a bittersweet feeling. He and Domino hold hands and the team looks onto the crater that was once their headquarters. Cannonball asks where they are supposed to live now. Domino may have just the solution.
