    2. The Superman Who Avoided Danger: (Superman) After an insurance salesman named Alber J. Splink puts himself in danger for a second time trying to sell Superman life insurance, Superman has himself shot with artillery shells, sits inside a blast furnace, then atop a polar summit, then drinks a cocktail of deadly microbes to demonstrate he doesn't need insurance. Splink accepts this and walks away depressed. That afternoon he is in a restaurant, talking to his fiance about what it would have meant to get the commission on incurring Superman, and is overheard by a millionaire in the next booth who then offers to pay for a life insurance policy for Superman that would pay out to a fund to help the pore people of Metropolis. Superman agrees and signs but later, when he tries to save a cat from a tree he is told that clause 11 of the policy states that he agrees not to take any unnecessary risks such as passing through fire, smashing through obstacles, traveling at more than 50 miles per hour or flying at an altitude higher than 20 feet. this is, of course, absurd and Superman decides he will cancel the policy but Plink has already gotten married and bought a house and furniture on credit based n the commission from the policy, if it's canceled he will be ruined so Superman decides to abide by it for a time until he can figure out a solution. a couple f criminals find out about the clause and try using it to get away with crimes but Superman figures out ways to stop them without breaking the rules. he then acts like he is sick and a Doctor playing along with him tells Plink's boss Superman is dying because he is using so much energy holding himself back so the guy strikes out clause 11 from the plan.
