Womanthology: Heroic is the result of a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign, with over 150 women contributing to the project. Over two thousand people contributed $109,000 of the sought-for $25,000. The book is a larger-format hardcover published by IDW. In addition to the many short (graphic) stories, there are artist profiles, pro tips, advice on becoming a comic creator. "In-depth articles teaching you the ins and outs of creating comic books!" The section on Kids & Teens features art from a new generation of women in comics. Proceeds for the sale of this book have benefited several charities.

The stories range in length from a single page to several, and artistic style and subject matter vary widely. There are over 60 different stories and many single-panel illustrations/paintings. This truly is a celebration of women in the industry.

In it are many contributions from well-known women in the industry as well as people I'd never heard of before. The stories themselves are a diverse and varied group that runs th...
