War couldn't be even more disturbing than this. Weird War Tales collects the stories from one of Vertigo's finest writers, all focusing on war themes, with bizarre and terrifying plot twists. These stories include the following:

"The Willow Warriors" is a story of an eternal confrontation between two shoguns who, after their factions' continuous failure to earn victory, have decided to send their most powerful fighters to settle the battle.

"The Survivor" tells the tale of a World War II captain encountering an army of killer creatures, who just massacred his entire group after a brief meeting with a delusional shipwreck survivor.

"Tunnel Rats" recalls the frightening life of a soldier who fought the Vietnamese War and during his escapades with his fellow comrade, discovers an underground city full of cannibalistic people who were hiding under the surface for years. And...

"Ares", which talks about a gang member on a mission to seek retribution for his gang and afterwards, gets an encounter with the Norse god of war, Ares, after his mission didn't become a sucess.
