The Strangers enjoy well-deserved down time, so each member goes back to their personal lives, dealing with their life as an ultra. Atom Bob visits his welcoming family, but a plethora of media surrounds their home. Grenade and Electrocute go to Grenade's home as well, but decides to not entertain the media cameras and instead opt for a walk in the neighborhood, expressing their mutual attraction. Zip Zap returns to his neighborhood and takes care of some gang members that have harassed him for years. Lady Killer returns to her company office to handle some business affairs and the future of the Strangers. Spectral visits a friend in the hospital, hoping his new ultra ability would be able to heal him. Yrial hears a woman screaming in the streets and finds that the woman was on the cable car that changed the Strangers into ultras. The woman, Henrietta Hawkins, claims that someone killed everyone on her block, someone named Deathwish. Yrial contacts the other Strangers to investigate the disturbance. There the Strangers find a trail of corpses that have been reduced to a crumbling, rotting state. That's when Deathwish shows himself, battling the Strangers. The battle seems to be pointless as Deathwish can't be hurt until Spectral arrives. He uses his growing ability to cause Deathwish to explode. Spectral then reveals to the team that he is gay and the friend he tried to save earlier actually died because he advanced his friend's disease as well as his friend's body. The Strangers offer support and unite as friends as well as teammates.
In a back-up story, the origin of Rune is told.
