His first stop is Hamburg, Germany, where the violent, invulnerable private investigator Von Hammer has the first piece of the puzzle. But to reach the detective, the Shade must duel with darkness against French shadow villain Bete Noir. The menace and mystery are just beginning in this second part of the Shade's global odyssey!

    THE GOODThis issue is ACTION PACKED. It starts out with the resolution from last issue's cliffhanger and then transitions back and forth between dialog and battle. Where as the last issue held a few pages of confusion for me, I was completely on board with the entire story this issue. Everything made sense and just made me want to read more of the arc.Art - Another beautiful issue. I did enjoy the cover on this issue as well, but liked the variant more. I love the facial detail for all the chara...

    SynopsisThe Shade tracks down private detective Von Hammer, as they are stalked by the shadow-beast Bete-Noire !The GoodQuite a lot happens in this issue! The titular character says goodbye to his loves Hope and Opal City, comes across Von Hammer and generally a lot of action and excitement in-between. That's not even to mention how well things from Von Hammer's quirky fight scenes with the French gangsters merge with the Shades' to further drive the story forward, which is most excellently writ...
