The Green Goliath receives a less-than-warm welcome upon his return to Earth! Can Hulk escape a confrontation with Doc Samson?

Hulk has just arrived back on Earth after his banishment to the Crossroads (also known as the "Crossroads of Time".)

Doc Samson gets word and races to meet him in the New Mexico desert, the Hulk's birth-place. Samson gets there first and goes over the origin of Hulk. Upon the arrival of the Jade Giant, they begin to fight. As the Hulk is creaming the good Doctor, Samson pleads with the inner Banner to "try to take control!!"

The Bruce Banner personality inside the Hulk brings illusions of attacking enemies to the Hulk's mind. First, he is attacked by Juggernaut. Juggernaut is replaced by MODOK. Rhino appears and takes over from MODOK. He runs right through Hulk like a ghost and the Hulk realizes that they aren't real.

Abomination is next, but Hulk confirms that he, too, is just "made of air."

When the next opponent, the Leader, shows up, the Hulk doesn't even try to fight him.

Now Doc Samson has recovered enough to address the Hulk again. The Hulk thinks that Leonard is a ghost now as well and won't fight him. The Doctor takes advantage of the situation and sucker-punches the Hulk, knocking him out.
