Nighthawk, along with Guardians of the Galaxy members Martinex and Charlie-27, are held captive by the Badoon in the year 3015 on Earth. Valkyrie and Guardians member Vance Astro rescue them.

Dr. Strange, who teleported Val and Astro to the dungeon, travels to another planet to rescue the Hulk and Yondu. Hulk is sent to an icy region along with a woman as part of a deadly reality game show. Hulk defeats an army of robot ants and destroys a mountain in the process.

Starhawk visits his family on an enclosed asteroid to determine what he should do next. His wife, communicating through a computer, tells him he must continue on.

The Guardians and Defenders on Earth attack Badoon headquarters as part of an effort to free humanity.

After destroying the ants, Hulk and the woman are returned to the TV studio, at which point Strange sends Hulk to join the other Defenders.

Strange, now onboard the Guardians' space ship, meets up with Jack Norriss, who has finally come around to supporting the overall mission and concept of the Defenders. He wants to help, so Strange teleports himself and Norriss to the rest of the Defenders. They defeat the Badoon in their location, then Strange and Norriss quikcly travel around and defeat them in every location on Earth.

They return to the others, where Starhawk joins them. The Defenders go home to their native time, while Starhawk agrees to lead the Guardians in their defense of Earth against the Badoon.
