    In 1937 Frank Redrum is a gangster who was horribly disfigured in a shoot-out with police. His disfigurement causes his own gang to turn their backs on him. It is then that he goes about creating a mask made out of cheese cloth (flesh colored) to hide his features. He then goes on a murder spree as the Blank, killing not the police but his own gang that rejected him. He does this for 12 weeks before being gunned down by Dick Tracy.

    Creation

    Chester Gould created the Blank in 1937. Standing of the shoulders of giants, the creation of the Blank may have led to the creation of the Question.
