“THE COAST-TO-COAST CALAMITIES!” On the east coast, the Titans stop a runaway train and run into Captain Calamity, while on the west coast a floating aircraft carrier brings several costumed heroes running, and they meet after saving the carrier.

Dick Grayson, Donna Troy, Wally West and Duela Dent, return from Hudson University. Suddenly, the train tracks buckle and bend into towering hills. Grayson, Troy, West and Dent meet the crisis, as the Teen Titans. Kid Flash evacuates the train. Wonder Girl straightens the tracks back out, then stops the train. Captain Calamity appears, ordering his minions to rob the passengers. Robin, and the Harlequin, subdue Captain Calamity's minions. Captain Calamity, however, proves to be a more formidable foe. Captain Calamity turns the Teen Titans' attacks back at them.

One of his men viciously clubs Wonder Girl into unconsciousness, after she has already been incapacitated. On board the U.S.S. Tippecanoe, Betty Kane wins an exhibition tennis match, against Christine Connell. As soon as the match is over, the U.S.S. Tippecanoe begins to rise into the air. While shooting a scene for Space Trek, 2022, Garfield Logan sees the U.S.S. Tippecanoe, hovering in the sky. Charles Parker also sees the flying aircraft carrier, just after quitting yet another job. Kane, and seaman Hank Hall, investigate the situation as Bat-Girl, and the Hawk.

Bat-Girl, and the Hawk, keep several crewman from pitching over the side of the carrier. Logan, and Parker, as Beast Boy, and the Golden Eagle, grab hold of the carrier's anchor chain, and drag it back out to sea. Beast Boy transforms into an elephant, weighing the vessel down, back into the ocean. The four heroes head back towards land, where they are met by Lilith Clay, and the Dove. Clay believes that they have all been brought together for a reason. At their secret headquarters in Long Island, the Teen Titans discuss current events.

Speedy voices umbrage over Aquaman's accusation of blame regarding Aqualad's mysterious condition. The Guardian continues to evade the Bumblebee's questions, regarding why he gave up his Hornblower identity. Responding to a sound outside, the Teen Titans bear witness to a crashing passenger plane. Incredibly, the plane burrows into the ground. The Guardian, and the Bumblebee, head down into the chasm to offer aid. Captain Calamity, and his minions, appear again. Before the Teen Titans can act, Captain Calamity orders them to stand down. Captain Calamity threatens to close the chasm, should any of the Teen Titans interfere in the robbery.
