Moss fills lungs. Leaves scrape across skin and wood against bone. A Swamp Thing is rising in The Green's hour of darkest need…but is Alec Holland a part of it? Or is he just bleeding out in a ditch? And as Alec falls, a horrible champion is taking the throne of the Bone Kingdom at Sethe's right hand!

We find Alec Holland in a swamp of blood. After being ambushed by Sethe's puppets and on the brink of death Alec's consciousness is taken into the Green. We see the Parliament ablaze, and all of them denouncing him. They tell him the took his consciousness from his body so that he could suffer with them. They tell him that Abby is on her way to be seated next to Sethe to take over the Rot in a Bone Kingdom and that when she emerges from the cocoon she will be forever changed.

The Parliament has put a Alec's body in a protective cocoon that the emissaries of the Rot are slowly breaking through. Alec tells them that in his bag is the last batch of the bio-restorative formula and that they need to use it to turn him into Swamp Thing. They realize that it could be possible to change him but they would not be able to fight alongside him. They break the vial and the transformation begins. The vines all spread throughout him and foliage forms off his human body.

Swamp Thing now rises from his cocoon and strikes down every single one of the attackers with a stroke of his hand. He grows wings and flies off to fight the Rot on their land.

Hell yes, We've been waiting and now it's happened, Scott Snyder has finally taken all the pieces and hints and threads of the past 6 issues and finally wove them all together for one fantastic pay-off. Sure, not much happens in this issue except one or two big plot points, but in the end this installment serves as a great mood piece and new beginning for Alec Holland, finally breaking the floodgates and just letting the horror begin to poor out.Snyder has chosen to use this issue to create a vi...

    BRING ON THE PAIN! 0

Dr. Alec Holland is bleeding out as he begs the Parliament of Trees to grant him the power to become Swamp Thing again and save the world from The Rot. The Parliament of Trees aren't too happy with Holland, and they see him as a failure to The Green and a lost chance to finally rid the world of The Rot. But Holland isn't willing to give up so easily. As hordes of undead humans with backwards heads fight to reach his dying body, he brings up an argument with the Parliament that shakes them right ...

Snyder Can Trip As Hard As Morrison 0

Sigh. Look, it's better than the Green Lantern banner because I get the point of this one. It's not hyping a movie that didn't need extra hype, and its for a good cause. But it doesn't change the fact that the "We Can Be Heroes" banner is a huge detriment to the covers its on. And of all the covers I've complained about the banner ruining, this one is the absolute worst. What I mean is, this cover should've been mind blowing. The solicits showed it, and I was utterly blown away by the intense ps...
