Continuing the new WildStorm series based on the hit CW show! John Winchester's investigation into his wife's horrifying murder plunges him deeper into the world of the supernatural. On the trail of the monstrous killer, John heads west with his children in tow, seeking aid in his quest and some answers...but is he asking the right questions?

John Winchester leaves Kansas and takes his boys, Sam and Dean, to Arizona to look for a man named Fletcher Gable. The man gives him the journal which is a familiar object to those who watch the Supernatural TV series. Fletcher explains some things to John about creatures that he is looking for and then directs him to a cemetery in Eureka, California where he says the Black Shuck (Hellhound) was last seen. The Shuck may be what killed Mary.

John's quest is interrupted by Mary's relative Jacob who unfortunately gets killed by the Shuck. Another man who calls himself Hunter, witnessed the activity and offers to train John.
