Superboy-Prime claims he made the amor himself, but Bart Allen says he stole the armor during his escape. The armor was designed to collect and feed Superboy-Prime with yellow solar energy that helps him maintain maximum power levels, even under red suns, or in the absence of suns. However, Superman flew Superboy-Prime through Krypton's red sun, destroying the suit. Later, Sinestro made a new armor for Superboy-Prime after he was held in custody by the Green Lantern Corps in front of a Red Sun-Eater for over a year.
