    If this arena looks like a TV set... that's because it's supposed to! Anyone with a passing familiarity with original Trek knows that visiting worlds resembling the historical past of Earth was a common occurrence. There was 'gangster world' and 'Nazi world', etc. Today these would inevitably be done as parallel universe stories, but at the time they were separate planets in the same universe that evolved similarly.The episode 'Bread and Circuses' repeats the formula, with ancient Rome, but with...
