    Sophie Bangs is a student who lives in an alternate New York to what we know.  Her New York magic is real, but science rules. While she was studying the re-occurrence of "Promethea" in literature, she is chosen to become the new Promethea Avatar.  When she joins with the magical entity Promethea she becomes a "Science Hero", which is like our term for Superheroes.
