    Richard Comely and Ron Leishman created Captain Canuck back in May  of 1975. Operating as Comely Comix published the first issue of his Captain Canuck comic book series. Captain Canuck was an instant hit to millions of Canadians he became “Canada’s own Superhero”.
     
    Years later Richard Comely received The Joe Shuster Canadian Comic Book Creator Award on Saturday, June 5, to celebrate Captain Canuck’s 35th anniversary.
