    Born in Cuba in 1928, Ricardo Leon Estrada began his art education through the legendary Landon Correspondence School and the Famous Artists Course before moving to New York City and taking classes at the New York Art Students League and the School of Visual Arts. In addition to illustrating numerous titles for DC, Charlton, Hillman, St. John, and Ziff-Davis from the 1950's through the early 1980's, Estrada also drew political cartoons and movie storyboards in Europe, worked in animation, and produced numerous novels and children's books.
