Rai » Rai #1 - New Moon Asunder released by Valiant/Acclaim on March 1992.

    Short summary describing this issue.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

Meet Takao Konishi, the last Rai! With the Blood of Heroes coursing through his veins, Rai will lead humanity's liberation from the all-knowing, all-powerful sentient nation known as Grandmother. But when you upset Grandmother, you must be punished.

Now that the Grandmother computer no longer rules Japan, the orbiting nation is split between the ruling Humanist party, and the Healers, who want to restore computer control. When the Healers attempt to steal a component from the Skull-dome control center, Rai and Kazuyo find themselves forced to battle a deadly Grandmother drone! But the terrible fight is only a diversion, designed to hide the Healers' true objective.

In this issue we meet Makiko Minashi a man who was raised from birth to be the protector of the people of Japan. He takes the title of Rai. He follows the teachings of Japans master computer called Grandmother. This makes it impossible for him to pick a side in the impending revolution.

In spite of their popularity in the early 90's. Yet it is something that Rai still enjoys an amount of respect even though other titles have fallen by the waysid...
