Origin
Mutaurus is a powerful, minotaur monster that serves Mogul of the Mystic Mountain. Volstagg would try to use his charm on Mogul's sister, Shezada inside her domain to retrieve any information on her brother. Shezada pulled a cord which opened a trap door and Volstagg fell into the chamber of doom while he clutched Shezada's waist. Mutaurus appeared and attacked Volstagg. Shezada told Volstagg that his sword would do no harm to Mutaurus and they had to flee. They crossed the Sea of Lizards to reach the enchanted rod of wondrous wizard power. Volstagg's mighty strength could barely control the enchanted rod but he managed to strike Mutaurus. The blast caused Mutaurus to fade away which allowed Volstagg and Shezada to escape his wrath.
Creation
Mutaurus was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1967 and first appeared in Thor # 143.
