    Short summary describing this issue.

Siegel and Shuster's Dr Occult, the mystic detective, started a multi part adventure in this issue, in which the spell binder donned a blue costume and red cape - an ensemble quite familiar to modern eyes! In addition, Occult exhibited super strength and the ability to fly. The powers weren't necessarily far fetched for a figure that could draw upon an unlimited well of magic, but it was becoming increasingly obvious that the two young creators were incorporating elements from Superman - their as yet unsold dream character.
